Please recommend 20” All-terrain favorites - the Duelers are awful!

Just got a new 2021 silver Laramie 1500 with these awful dueler h/l tires. They spin on leaves going up my driveway. Couldn’t believe it. Would love a solid, quiet all terrain option that could eventually look great with some black rims. First time owner of a Ram. I cannot believe how nice this truck drives!

You're going to get a lot of opinions on this topic. Most are based on personal experience and all are good. Problem is there a lot of good tires. Doesn't take much to be better than the dueler HLs. I suffered through one wisconsin winter with them and wasn't going to do another. I replaced them with BFG KO2 and went up a couple of sizes. I wanted an E load rated tire. My second choices would have benn Cooper Discoverer AT3 or Firestone Destination XT. Lots of choices. In the end you gotta just go with your gut and hope for the best. Good luck in your decision-making process. It took me a couple of months. My wife got really tired of hearing about tires!

I run Goodyear Wrangler Adventure with Kevlar. Had them for over a year and in my 2nd winter. Great tires, no complaints. Great traction dry, wet, or snowy. I’ll buy a set again when these wear out.

I'm partial to Toyo At3s, unless they offer a BFG ko2 in the size you're looking for. But definitely take the opportunity to upsize rubber.

I'm also researching tires to replace the terrible duelers. They are truly, truly awful. I've never replaced a set of factory tires before they wear but these are gone come Spring. I'm probably between the Cooper Discover AT3 and Michelin Defenders. But I'll probably change my mind twelve times before then. Either way I'm going to a 60 height instead of 55.

I went with General Grabber ATx. LT275/65/20 (34”). I’ve had them on for over a year and ~ 15k miles. They are showing virtually no signs of wear, they aren’t noisy, and they provide good traction in all conditions. Plus they look good.

KO2’s work for me. I’ve been happy with mine. The duelers didn’t have enough traction for what I needed.

Cooper Discoverer AT3 XLT's 285/65/20
I have driven them over 30k miles and believe they will make it to the 65k mark as they claim. They ride great, quiet, great on highway and off-road.

If you don't tow a heavy trailer, look for an AT tire that comes in an XL. If you buy an LT tire, your ride and MPG's will take a hit.
If you decide to stick to SL/XL/C-rated tires your options will be limited.

If you bump up to E-rated tires your selection increases exponentially. E-rated tires are going to be 10+ lbs heavier too so take that additional rotational inertia into account (and the added price) when shopping around.

Some of the LT tires I looked at were ~70lbs. That's 20lbs heavier than a lot of XL tires. My XL Ridge Grapplers are 13lbs lighter than the same tire in a LT. You're right, XL tire sizes are few and far between compared to the LT's.

The Wildpeaks are avail in a stock size XL tire (6 ply) which is what mine are and are similar in weight to the Bridgestones. FalkenWildpeak A/T3WP 275/55?R20 117T XL RBL

I’ve got the Falken wildpeak AtW3 In XL on this truck in 275/60/20. Tires are fantastic. Hum just a tad on the highway if pavement is really smooth but I don’t mind it. Fantastic wet traction. I will throw this out there if you think 2” level and 33”s is enough for you it will be for about a month then you’ll be wishing you went with 34s or 35s and a 3.5” lift. Ask me how I know

With a positive offset wheel or stock wheels without spacers, I would agree...33's look too small. I've even seen some 34's and 35's that looked pretty weak because of a non-aggressive stance. A good looking aftermarket wheel with a negative offset with 33's looks perfect IMO. I've had my setup for 6+ months and I haven't wished for 1 second that I had bigger tires.

My dad has the Falkens and they are a great tire.

I'm about to hit 55K miles in my XL Ridge Grapplers and loved them from beginning to end. The "end" was probably 5K miles ago (still some tread left in the center but the sides are pretty much bald now).

I don't want an E-rated tire, and my dad's running the Falkens so they were not a contender for me, so it came down to another set of XL Ridge Grapplers or a set of SL-rated Toyo Open Country R/T tires (with a 45K mile warranty). Apparently both tires come from the same factory.

After long deliberation I get my new set of Ridge Grapplers on Wednesday.
