Apples and oranges, but on the Laramie trim they changed the name of the Level A Equipment Group to Level 1. Price went from $1795 to $2120 but they added blind spot and cross path detection (XAN) and rear under seat compartment storage (CUE)....

Glad they went back to level 1. BSM is a must for me. They removed it as an option in the Big Horn so I had to step up to the Laramie.

I just did my first Ram Chat session. All they could tell me was that parts are available and my build is scheduled. Asked if that meant D1 status, and she said they didn't use codes anymore. No ETA on start, completion, shipping or anything else...

Jeebus christ Ram chat is useless. A competent dealer is better at providing information Imo.

So here’s a good one. I just called the number that’s been posted and got on with customer service. I was told my (last 8 digits) Vin was for a ‘99 dodge Shadow. Then I gave her my full vin and she said the same. Also gave her my VON and full name. She insisted that I owned a ‘99 Dodge Shadow. (I don’t even know what a dodge shadow is) I told her I was reading off the PDF POC my Dealer sent me. Eventually the woman on the other end got frustrated and I believe hung up on me. I wasn’t even mad. I was more amused that this could be happening.
So I called in again and got a CS gentleman that got my description of my last call and said that the last 8 letters/digits (it’s what they ask for) are being reused from years past and causing problems. He was then able to locate my truck and tell me it was not moving toward build. No parts. No movement. He said that seemed wrong and opened a “customer loyalist” case (I think he called it) and by tomorrow a manager would be reaching out to me. Overall he was professional and empathetic and did as good of a job as expected given the S*** Show he works for. 5 stars for him. S*** Sandwich for me.

Ramchat told me 7-9 weeks from order to delivery today, I almost choked to death 🤣😂🤣
That might be true for new orders. I'll be right in that window if there are no hold ups getting mine shipped. 200xxx+ VINs are looking the same.

Yes! Your number one priority tomorrow is to get pictures posted here.
Oh and congratulations.

Thanks!

Dealer went out in the sleet / snow and snapped two quick pics. He said it will go through inspection tomorrow so maybe late tomorrow or Saturday morning to pick it up. I like the black third brake light. Also the LED headlights look nice compared to the standard headlights. Will post more when I get there!

just wondering if eighty and/or tripleB have looked into this reuse of VINs and if it could be something adding to the delays

I have a Rebel pretty loaded on order from 10/27 that's still sitting in D status. Not sure if Rebel's aren't getting the love but I see a lot of recent orders for Laramie's or Limited's going through the build process and ordered in the last few weeks.

Is it worth ordering a Limited and it may come in a lot sooner or will that likely sit as well?

The chance of a manager contacting you by tomorrow is zero. Sorry.

Honestly that's probably their average at the moment. There are so many trucks that were ordered and built within a couple of weeks that it's bringing the average overall down a ton.

The can't reuse/reissue VIN's. The problem is some places seem to only look at the last 6 digits, which do repeat year after year. This is just lazy or untrained employees who are not good at this job.

A 1999 Dodge would have a year code of "X" so there is no way that should be a duplicate of our year. Ours is "N" which also repeats in 1992

The vehicle manufacture code for Dodge is also "1B" and we all have "C6" for Ram

This is how they made this VINs in 2019. Most of that is the same except the year identification

I confirmed this morning with Sandi I am in D1 finally, with an ESD of 12/23. LOL

So thanks to all of you for putting the fear of God in me about Christmas orders, my truck is probably going to arrive with a missing wheel and some used Honda Civic seats.

:ROFLMAO:
You could get Vtec dude. 😳😆
