How to find Payload & Towing figures on an ordered vehicle?

I just placed an order yesterday for a fully loaded 1500 Laramie Crew Cab, 4WD, Etourqe engine. It has the 3.92 gear ratio, 33 gal. tank, air suspension, pano sunroof, multifunction tailgate, level 2 package, bed utility package, tow package, night edition. How is it possible that the dealer can't give me the exact payload and towing numbers? He says to refer to the Ram website where you can't add all the "extras" and that payload states 1,810 lbs. with a 12,210 towing capacity. After looking at threads here, as well as other Ram dealership websites with posted specs on those vehicles, the numbers are all over the board. How can I find out these exact figures before my order is placed tomorrow as I need to know them for pulling my new trailer?

You will have to wait till your VIN generates a build sheet snd window sticker. And then you can use the look up my truck tab on the towing page.

The only thing you could do is search for a similar truck and use its VIN to get you close.

Payload is gonna be about 1200~ 1300lbs...

Thanks for your replies. I'm assuming that the pano sunroof and multifunction tailgate would gain me the most payload back if I deleted those options, correct?

I would believe you are correct.

let me ask you this

what does your trailer weigh?
It's a small ATC Game Changer toy hauler, 20' box, dry weight under 6K lbs. We will only be carrying bikes in the back so I don't plan on more than 8K lbs total, even if we have the 100 gallon fresh water tank full. The issue isn't the towing capacity but the tongue weight. As it sits dry, the tongue weight is right around 1K lbs. My wife, daughter and I are around 400 lbs combined. The weigh-safe WDH weighs around 80 lbs and a tonneau cover will weigh about 70 lbs. That's 1,550 lbs with nothing in the bed of the truck, so if I can find a way to add more weight to the back of the trailer and get that down to 850 or so, I'll need a payload of at least 1,400 lbs.

I found an almost identical vehicle to mine at another dealership. This vehicle has the Off Road Package, which I don't have, but mine has the multifunction tailgate, everything else is identical. The Ram VIN look up site for payload is stating 1,200 lbs for this vehicle. I'm wondering how many lbs I could get back if I were to delete the multifunction tailgate and the pano sunroof?

my guess would be the 200 you need to bring it to the 1400 you are looking for.
but again it is just a guess.

Yeh, that's exactly what I'm thinking. I may have to remove those 2 features before my order is placed tomorrow.

off road package is ~110 lbs
Pano is ~70 lbs
MFT is ~65 lbs
eTorque is ~70 lbs

Found this in another thread. Seems to list weights for all options. Might be handy information.

As you can see. We have been doing this for a long while.

All the info is all ready here.

A Bighorn is the best trim for towing. A lowly optioned Laramie if you want some leather.

I thought I took the highlights of our payload thread and made a thread with the info. People just show up and ask and we keep answering...so not sure I ever completed it. Guess I need to look through my notes lol

Where did you find this information? Is it directly from Ram?
From years of research.

RAM body builder guide has this info. But ultimately...each trim adds to the weight in and of itself...so even the body builder guide can not be completely accurate for the level of accuracy our members require...lol
