Heard back from Mark Dodge. Said the Affiliate programs end on 10/1, and it won't be honored. I'm just gonna have to wear my $100 t shirt.

I think some clarification is needed here... Are you saying she said that, despite the fact you were eligible for the affiliate discount when you ordered, they will not honor the discount when the truck arrives?

This is my older conversation with Mark Dodge about this. Bear in mind though, if the manufacturer pulls the plug on the discount your dealer can't do anything about it.

Ugh....I hate all of this run around with different answers.

I can guess that any inventory on the lot, doesn't get a discount, but for us that have been waiting for months....we deserve those incentives and discounts.

Ram seriously need to take care of folks that have been waiting.

In your case (and maybe in the case of everyone else who went through Mark Dodge), it is only a few hundred dollars. However, I think it is really bad business that a dealer would not make up that difference through other means. If a dealer wants to give you a $500 (or $5,000) discount, they can do so without having to get approval from the manufacturer.

I checked in with my dealer tonight and he told me as long as I gave him my control number by the first I was locked in? We'll see if that holds up

Yeah, I pulled a control number last week (only good until the beginning of 2022). Nothing ventured nothing gained I guess.

Yeah, I hear the UC5 point loud and clear. My biggest concern with UC5, though, is that when I got my 2019 right after they first came out, the implementation of the UC4 in the Ram was abysmal, and my truck spent multiple multi-day stints in the shop for them to fix the issue. So, I have a sinking suspicion the UC5 implementation will have the same fate, and although it purports to be an upgrade, I truly wonder if it will be a net negative if it ultimately runs into the same issues that the UC4 implementation in the first Gen 5's experienced.

I hope I'm wrong for the sake of everyone on this site, but I just can't shake the feeling that UC5 is going to be a major pain in the 3.92 rear.
Haven't they been using UC5 in other models? should be that big of a update. but who knows.

They have, but the Ram 1500/2500/3500 are the only models that use the 12" screen. Most other models whom have UC5 so far, for the premium options, use an 8.4" or 10.1" screen. The other, possibly bigger difference (software wise) is the aspect ratio of the screens. The 8.4" and 10.1" are more square and "traditional" in how they sit, while the 12" is tall and narrow.

While these sound like minor differences, it does mean the software is different, and at least to some degree, new. Look at the difference in UC4 between the 8.4" and 12" screens, huge differences, even though they are both called UConnect 4.

I agree. Right now would be the perfect time for some manufacturer to step up and start readily offering great deals despite the supply/demand curve. I’m in the process of trying to find a new car for my wife and out of the cars she likes best (7-Series, S-Class, Lexus LS), the Lexus dealer is the only one who started below MSRP when I asked for their best price; BMW and MB both started above MSRP, despite my having just bought an M5 from the BMW dealer a few months ago.

Lexus has been very impressive and I’ll be singing their praises regardless of what my wife ultimately decides she wants. Ram has such an opportunity to win over customers if they choose to do so… I guess we’ll see.

I have it in a 21 pacifica. It was my understanding that the 21 pacifica was the first to get the Uconnect 5. But it's a 10" in the pacifica. THis would be the first 8.4 and 12" versions i think.

Also worth mentioning is that there's a ton of bugs in the UC5 software. We've had lots of odd issues with it. Everything from black screens, to lockups, to unresponsive overlapping icons on the GUI. We've been told that they're waiting for a firmware update from chrysler, "hopefully in the fall" When it works, it's a really nice system to use. But reliability hasn't been great so far.

If the UC5 updates are anything like the UC4 updates I had to get on my ‘19 Limited, they will require you to drop the vehicle off at the dealer for a few days for them to update it.

I think that stepping up for loyal customers waiting for months is a great start. We know that the chip shortage is an issue for all, you can give out discounts for orders.

For example, if you want to bring new folks to the ram brand and place an order, "here is $500 for new ram owners, $1k discount for existing/previous owners".

What is this control number you speak of? From the tread lightly cert?

I was under the impression that part of the perks of UC5 was OTA updates...?
There are OTA updates on the current system as well but yes since it’s android based and not proprietary like the old system updates should be easier and faster to push out. Having to drop your vehicle off for days to get a software update done is a dealership issue, my dealer always performs any needed software flashes while I’m in for routine service.

As far as I know, only 2 of the 2022 DT's have window stickers (and those are PR vehicles). The HD trucks are a different factory/timeline, so those don't count.
I understand they come from the Mexico plant. But the idea they would handle the HD supply vastly different that then 1500 seems odd. Especially at a time of low supply and high demand. I would think they would do their best to get all trucks to dealers as fast as they could. We already see them in production, so to think they will hold them till all the MY21's are gone feels off to me. Would they then penalize smaller volume dealers who are still holding onto a single MY21 and not ship them any MY22's till they sold that last truck?
I have a feeling something was lost in the telephone game and the initial reference was more about production

I just called the affiliate rewards program 1-888 number listed on their site, figured its is better to go straight to the source.

Ashley's response was" The FCA affiliate rewards program is not ending, some dealers may choose to stop honoring it. But there is going to be some changes to the available vehicles next month." When I asked what vehicles would change, she replied "I do not have access to that, we have just been told some vehicles are changing"
