you all need to read this post
I read the whole thread. I have been worrying about this sort of thing, especially with all of these incredible pricing below invoice so many of have gotten. Especially with the small dealerships trying to compete with the high volume dealerships. I really think the bad reviews made the difference. A small dealership cannot afford that. Of course the lawyer had some impact as well. I have a POC with the fine print that says it doesn't become a contract until the truck has an invoice and arrival date. I also have an offer of pricing with the total price including titling etc. This says that it is an estimate. The general manager told me that they will honor the price regardless of FCA price increases. We will see.

Just stopped in to see my dealer and he showed me an email that stated Ram is doing away with all supplier, affiliate, employee, etc discounts starting in October. He sent a response asking if it applies to sold orders but didn't get a response back while I was there. Jeep and Dodge as well.
My sales guy said that too. Seems now it was corporate that said that. I ordered last week, I hope I can still use affiliate and supplier discount. Would be a real bummer if not.

I don't want to get into too detailed of an economic discussion on a Ram forum, but the vast majority of consumers are relationship agnostic and will go wherever they can get the best price. So, while a dealer or manufacturer may lose your business forever, you are in the vast minority and, over time, losing you won't negatively affect their overall bottom line.
You may very well be right and I'm sure they would never notice if I buy or not. However, I consider myself a principled and loyal person, at the same time I also consider this a two way street. Relationships cut both ways. There are a number of companies that will never see a dime of my money and I'm sure they will never notice but I feel that I'm doing the right thing and that's what matters to me.

My salesman quoted me $500 under invoice before I even picked options. I'm only counting on the $500 first responder discount on top of that when the truck comes in. I don't see them doing any sales on 22s by the time they are delivered.

I will offer invoice when mine comes in. It is only a couple grand lower than MSRP right now. Worst case, I give invoice, and a down payment. Tough times for discounts unfortunately.

It's a war of attrition being waged by the dealers..... we'll be so worn out by the ups and downs of waiting for our trucks for 6 months that when they finally arrive, we'll pay $10K over MSRP just to get the keys...

I'm betting some dealers are hoping for that.

My dealer offered $1000 over invoice, $500 deposit, plus any incentives in effect at the time. It didn't seem too bad considering that they were not budging a penny from MSRP on the 21 Limited I had just test driven. Now I know better...oh well. I did sign up for Tread Lightly anyway (after learning about it here). I look at it as $100 option on a $1700 discount. If they won't honor it I won't be too upset.

Regardless of the culprit, if my price is jacked up on an order i already made, catch me in a 2022 tundra.

what is a control number and where can we get one?
Ask your dealer if your place of employment is an affiliate or a supplier. I know there have been some other affiliates mentioned on this forum that you can sign up for if you want to look around. Your dealer will give you a code for that supplier/affiliate. Then go to fcausaffiliates.com and create an account. Enter the code your dealer gave you and it will provide you a control number your dealer will use to apply the discount. You can generate 2 control numbers per year and each is good for about 3 months. I generated mine today and it is good through January 3, 2022.

Hey, I don't see you on the registry. Are you interested in being added to the tracker? If so, PM me your order details (VIN, order date).

Update
My truck passed inspection and is now in storage
Estimated ship date oct 9/2021
Just curious, my 2022 Ram Rebel VIN is 119037, where does that put me compared to yours being built and in storage? Both Ram Chat and the dealer seem useless with any real updates?

Yours is about 65,000 lower than mine. I just ordered mine a week ago and it is in D status.

You can’t compare where you are in productions etc by VIN
They are not being produced in order of lowest to highest vin

Yeah, one would think that they would try to get this most expensive models delivered, TRX, limited, etc. in order to maximize reported revenue for shareholders and stock price. But who knows what’s really going on behind the curtain…
