Apologies if this has been asked before, but I havent found a solid answer yet.

Has anyone found a part # for the 2019 rams yet? Or been given conframation that the 2018 will work on 2019?

I currently have preload installed. And I feel these would be best for what I want to achieve.

There are no Bilsteins for the 2019s as of yet. The 4th gen struts are not the same length so they will not work as they are too short.

The 5100 are adjustable up to 2.75 front and 1" rear. Not sure what exactly has been changed for the gen 5 vs gen 4.

There was a post here somewhere comparing them to the 5th gen struts. You could "use" them, but they would not be able to to give the lift you want.

I asked Rancho about quicklift struts also. Just got a response of Q1 2019. Their 2019 test truck is in the shop right now.

Is there a comparison between the 2? I've known Rancho to be more off road, not ant comfort. Where Bilstein is abt cumfort.

The spring itself significantly impacts the ride. Rancho's quicklifts come as a full strut assembly, so you can replace as a matched unit with Rancho's spring rate. Bilsteins you swap your top hat and coil onto, retaining stock spring rate.

I ventured to their web site. Does seem like a nice all inclusive package. Should be interesting to see where their price point will be at.

I would guess similiar to the 18s. Rancho's $220 a corner for the front, $115 for matching rear shocks. Bilsteins around $100/corner. Both significantly more than a $60 preload spacer level, but about half (or less) what the Mopar 2" Fox's go for the fronts.

Here is a comparison from another forum. 4th gen on the left, 5100 in the middle, 5th gen on the right. The spring seat is much higher up on the 5th gen strut.

Did the preload just for a here and now. The factory rake is horrible. However as options become available, I would prefer to get the level from the full suspension.

The price point doesnt seem horrible. Definitely understand if Rancho runs that price per. Would assume a match set spring w/ their system. In addition to a complete plug and play setup. However with our trucks being soo new, the factory spring would do just fine if going with the bilstein set.

Hopefully both bilstein and Rancho get their R&D done soon. Thanks for the comparison pic! I have the ORP , so my strut perch is a little higher than the 5th gen posted.

Did you experience any change in ride from the preload spacer? Realistically, as long as you're good with that, I don't know if you'll gain anything real from swapping, all applications essentially are just methods to create a longer strut at base ride height and you've already compensated for the biggest wear concern of the UCA BJs.

I tend to over research, and coming from a 2.5" strut top leveled F150 for the past couple hundred thousand miles, I am really enjoying the ride of the Ram. A little gunshy to go with a preload spacer that changes the spring rate.

I put the rough country preload spacer on mine, I actually think it rides better. I really liked the Rancho strut assemblies. I had them on my 13’ they were great. I like being able to reach over the tire and adjust the dampening. I tow a large trailer and would click it up stiffer when towing and down after. It really helped with the freeway bridges, it would stop the bounce created by the trailer. Ion my 11’ I used the 5100’s, they were good too, but non adjustable obviously.

Spring rate stays the same, it's a physical attribute of the spring and can't be changed without re tempering the steel. What your doing by adding preload is adding
additional force pushing up, so that it offsets the trucks weight and the truck rides higher in its travel, The stiffness is from the additional force on rebound without the proper rebound valving. The billsteins work the same way but you're adjusting the perch height versus adding a spacer, the billsteins are made to preload so the rebound and compression damping is different to compensate and maintain better ride quality. The rancho quicklifts are physically longer like the fox struts that come in the mopar kit. And the best way to go for ride quality, preload is best served when you add additional sprung weight to the front of the truck from a plate bumper or winch. At some point icon will have extended travel coil overs out and those will be sweet paired up with some delta joint ucas but pricey like fox, king or radflo, the other option will be Falcons by tereflex if they come out with something for the 2019s they're like a 5100 but more robust and about double the price.
