My new 21 BTS has an auto dimming rearview mirror and auto dimming left side view mirror but the right side does not dim. Is that normal. I'm thinking maybe because it is on the right side and "objects in mirror are closer than they appear" may have something to do with why it does not dim perhaps. Maybe? Does anyone else notice this?

I think you should have it on both sides.
You can tell if the mirror has this feature by the way the glass look. If it has a darker line going all around the mirror glass, it has this feature. The inner part is the one that gets dark and the outer line doesn't. I've circled the line I the picture

It's normal on the lower trims.

Big Horns (including BTS editions) only have driver's side and rear view dimming. My truck is exactly the same. No idea why they decided not to include passenger side dimming. Well, I mean, I DO know why..... saving a couple $$. Same reason the lower trims don't get passive entry.

But it's still dumb.

I wonder if it could be added if we wanted? @Jimmy07 any idea?

Yeah my left side has it but the right does not. I'd imagine it can be added since apparently some models have it and others dont.

One would think I could be added because apparently other models have both. Cant see why it couldn't be
As long as the correct wiring is there. They sometimes don't have the correct connections or wiring. Having added a few factory items to my BH, I'm familiar with that.

Yeah it doesnt make any sense to me. I'd imagine it can be added as it would appear that other models have it and we have half of it lol

Who can we ask so I dont have to pull the door panel off lol

The wiring isn’t there because the glass that has the auto dim wires isn’t present, and they go directly from the glass to the door module.
All you would need to do is swap out the passenger side glass for the auto dim glass, add the two wires, and set Doors: Electro-Chromatic Passenger Mirror Present to Yes

Swaping the glass and harness is easy enough but how do you set the passenger mirror present to yes? I'm assuming you need the dealer to do that?

Using AlfaOBD or Jscan

Learning something new today. I knew I had auto dimming rear view mirror, but I didn't know my driver side also did.

I did check my build sheet, and it only mentions 'Auto Dim Exterior Driver Mirror'. So it means my passenger side is not.

So if those can do it I would imagine the dealer can too for a fee
I doubt it, but you could ask. They would need to add the sales code. Some dealers are more helpful than others. They would need to call FCA and have the code added.

The dealer can't do it. They can only restore your BCM according to your VIN. If your Truck didn't came with the dimming passenger side mirror, then the option is not enabled in your BCM.

Maybe. But why pay the dealer when you can get the AlfaOBD software, the OBD2 dongle, and the security bypass for the same or less than the dealer would charge you anyway? Then you have those tools to use in the future.

If that's true then my previous truck didn't have it either (2020 Laramie). The build sheet for my 2021 Limited does say "Auto Dim Exterior Passenger Mirror". I guess I never noticed my Laramie didn't have that feature LOL.
