Hi all. I’m a new BTS owner. 2021 Tank.
It’s a nice truck and an upgrade from my 2019 Sierra SLE…Carmax offered me $5k more than I paid 18 months ago. Was too good to pass up.

That being said, I’m seeing some of these used car prices and trade-in values recently and to be honest, I wouldn’t be totally opposed to parting with my BTS if the number was right. I’ve only had it for a couple months, less than 1k miles. Like I said, it’s a nice truck, but I just don’t value cars in the way some do. It’s not often you can think of cars as an investment!

Gets to my question…
What kind of premium do these BTSs command? I don’t think online estimates really account for the package other than the features it entails. I know how hard it was to get this truck and how quickly others moved, most times before they hit the lot. I also know how small the reductions were on these as compared to other Big Horns.

Do you think I would get the premium these trucks probably deserve? Would trade vs. private make a significant difference?

Thanks!

As always private would probably be your best option especially if you're expecting the limited run to demand a premium. You'd likely have better luck finding someone with a military or other service background who would find meaning in the truck if you were actually set on getting a premium for the truck. I'd assume most dealers won't care too much.

I got the same rebates and discounts on my BTS when I bought it as any other BigHorn would get.

Update on the odd suspension issue after the recall, the dealership is finally agreeing to replace the front struts to attempt to see if it fixes the issue and to also satisfy me with my concerns of the strut being damaged internally when the swap occurred. I was able to get the part number from them that they ordered, it seems they ordered 68404037AD struts which says HD Raised Ridge Height struts. Does anyone have a cross reference for the struts to see if we are pairing up the right strut to the right spring? I know that one of the others on here had mentioned they had 68277314AC as their strut, which had the Green label. When I looked at mine, it has an all white label with no green top or bottom and looks to have already rubbed away a bit so I'm leaning towards the struts that are on mine currently are not the right ones, hopefully I'm not just putting back on the same exact problem. Any thoughts? The dealer is open to ideas so if we can find the secret sauce to my suspension to make it glide again, I'm all ears.

Guys .... My BTS Ram is in for the spring recall now as I type ... The dealer just called me and told me that an alignment isn't covered under the recall ... Even the service rep was surprised by this. They are changing the ride height of the truck (+1 inch) therefore changing the "Home" location of the suspension geometry, I cant imagine not checking the alignment after doing that. I am curious to know if anyone else has had this experience? I told them to align it ... I have had good luck with this dealer and I may find out later today that they just did it for free but we'll see. If they insist on charging I'll have to figure out where to go at RAM to dispute the charge ... my dealer has been good, they should get paid for the alignment by RAM as a part of their recall work ... I know this guy doesn't plan on paying for it!!!

Has anyone else had this issue?

My dealer had to loosen everything up and re-align everything, but I'm an odd case, I would say let them do their directed procedure and see how it feels after, if it still doesn't feel right, they will put it back on the rack and straighten it out, that shouldn't be an issue, you will notice right away if it needs it or not when they do the work.

Nice looking truck deese. I got my bedliner sprayed in today and struck out with my tire install. The installer called me after having the truck for 1.5 hours that they can't do it today because they need a crew of 3 people. I know I got larger tires but this seems unnecessary.

Nice on the liner bummer on the tire intall. Our LineX dealer is out of product or has been the past few weeks. Think they got some in this week and Im like #9 on the list. Hopefully before the end of the month.

On a side note did you get keys for the lock box in the console other than the key in the fob? I swear when I looked at one at a different dealer than where I got mine from there were keys loose on top of the box (set of 2). But when I picked it up today he pulled the key out of the fob and said that was for the box. Curious.

Ok, I finally got my new tires installed. Toyo AT3s in 275/65R20s. They are definitely more aggressive and about 2 inches taller than stock. Stock was right at 31.5 and these are closer to 33.5. I was hoping for closer to a true 34 but I'll take it. It rides better than stock due to a few more inches of rubber at 40 psi. I haven't had a chance to fully check for rubbing but it doesn't seem like an issue.
