What are people's experiences on how accurate RamChat is when they say "delivered to dealer"?

Has your dealer followed up to let you know very soon after?

My truck has been showing “I am showing that your vehicle is in the stage prior to being released by the plant. Vehicle may have been selected for additional quality inspections or held for delivery purposes. At Stellantis, you can be assured that we take vehicle quality seriously. Currently no Dealer ETA has been provided” for 2 weeks. I asked if this was normal, and they said they were going to escalate the case.

So what do they do when they “escalate the case???”

1) What changes was everyone making?
2) Was there an extra charge to make changes or was it just the price difference?
Oh and most importantly, does making a change restart your wait (especially with the shortages, I don’t want to get pushed back in line and lose features)???

If anything I’d upgrade my gear ratio from 3.21 to 3.92 on the off chance that I’d ever need it. Before I ordered I read that the 3.21 saves MPG but after additional reading it seems that the MPG savings are basically negligible.

4) Is it possible to change gear ratios on a 4x4 after market? I’m assuming that answer is yes, but how much of a cost is it for a mechanic to do that?
It looks like your order was fairly recent. I would contact your dealer and ask them to make the change to the 3.92. That option cost is only about $100 MSRP & it would cost a ton more to have done after the fact.

It’s hard to imagine “escalate the case” is anything more than an anemic attempt at making you feel better about waiting so long for your order.

Agreed. You just get some workflow-driven template email that echos Ram Chat’s update. Then, several weeks later you get another template Email. It’s really BS and a waste of time.

Despite the fact I already have my vehicle I have continued to track the VIN of the one I ordered on 3/10 so it might help provide context for those still waiting. Got the build sheet today, a shade under 7 weeks. IF all the other timelines hold true it would likely have shown up in another 3-4 weeks. Still has to go to the offsite vendor for bedliner etc.

Supposedly the dealer tried to cancel it they day I picked up the truck I ended up with (almost the same build, just not ORP) but it had hit D1 that day (4/19) and it wouldn't let them. The sales manager told my SA to make sure to document they tried to cancel because it was still going to be prioritized as a custom build and they catch heck from FCA because it would essentially be an "extra" vehicle for inventory.

Last 6 of the VIN is 708096 for those who are tracking sequence numbers. IF the build is what you want DM me and I'll get you the SA at the dealership. I didn't get a "great deal" but it was ~12% below MSRP and I have it now without waiting. Would be a bonus if someone from another state came an bought it so I don't have a nearly identical twin in town.

Wow I ordered 4/8 and my last six are 766165. They are ordering a lot of trucks
Interesting. I "ordered" on 4/6 and my VIN ends 766434. Or maybe the dealer waited a few days and didn't tell me.

Phillip Olson (Bud Clary, Seattle), has been keeping me informed with updates as my truck wends its way towards the west coast. Currently, it is 157 miles from the dealership.

Looking like a rendezvous will occur later this week. :)

(And then, after the relaxing vacation drive home, I can start clearing garage space of all the mods and add-ons that I'll need to install.)

Well maybe there’s something in those numbers that have to do with model. Not sure

Tell them you want the build sheet they put in. You’ll see the date and all the options. Only after I got this from them did I realize I wasn’t getting red accents. I’m still upset over this

Can your dealer track your truck's shipping whereabouts? My dealer said they don't have that ability and will only be able to give me update if/when Ram gives them info. Which doesn't seem to happen frequently. My eta is 5/7-5/24

On the interior. If you look at the sheet I uploaded it says black for interior color. We ordered the black with red accents

So Just for fun I contacted Ram Chat today to see if they had changed any of there info on my truck and it did. Now they gave me this "I am showing your vehicle is currently in the shipping process, the current ETA for delivery to the selling dealership is 05/12/2021 - 05/26/2021"
My dealer said it should be offloaded from the train at 5/10 so that seems like about right for me to get it.

Just got this one from Ram Chat: “I am showing parts have been gathered and the vehicle should be entering the build process soon.”

I'm not holding my breath, and reached out to the dealer for a possible “D1”. 🤨🧐
