Hi all, first time ever posting here. I have been reading some related threads to educate myself, there are some really knowledgeable people on this site so here is the problem that I have been having.

about a month ago I had my oil changed at the local Costco and the truck ran smoother than ever. Later I took the truck to the dealer for a tire rotation and they suggested to perform the V71 ORC recall. Ever since that service, the truck has been running weird.

1. Accelerates like a bus with loud engine noise
2. Slow and rough shifts and holding gear while accelerating
3. Droning noise with engine around 1400-1900rpm could be ANC?
4. Possibly worse fuel economy.
5. When cold and reversing or moving slowly, a rubbing noise can be heard which I have no idea what it could be.

I will be taking it back to the dealer to see if they can reflash the softwares. But it is kinda weird that it started right after the last trip to the dealer.

COSTCO must have messed up something.
Take it up with them, they might be able to fix your fuel economy? Good luck.

I wonder if they left a loose ground. Couldn't hurt to pop the hood and wiggle some wires. This was an air bag recall of some sort?

I was told they can't revert back once they do a software update. I know that's BS in theory, but might cause lots of issues in real life. I learned a long time ago not to update with anything that runs on embedded software if it's working fine. I sincerely hope your dealer is able to get your truck back to the way it was.

Weird - this sounds a lot like my truck as it shows all the same symptoms described by OP... I and two dealers haven’t been able to identify/resolve.

If you are going back to the dealership, we would be happy to escalate a case for you so that a case manager can get involved and help to resolve your concerns. Feel free to send us a message with your VIN and dealer info if you would like to talk further.

What dealers did you work with? When was the last time you were there? If you are planning on returning, feel free to let us know so we can escalate a case for you.

Thanks for everyone’s input. I did take it to the dealership and after a road test and computer analysis. The tech recommended that the ANC amp to be changed. I have the appointment in a few weeks, we will see how that helps!
