Greetings, I’m a newB and have an issue with my new Ram 2500. The 12 inch Uconnect radio will buffer ( trying to download SeriousXM) foe hours or days!! I cannot even play music from my phone. Can anyone help with this issue?

Not normal. Mine has booted up quickly for two years. I only get the buffering when I’m sitting under an overpass. May be an antennae issue.

That would be warranty work. Take it in for service. There are known problems with the 12", but most can be solved, at least temporarily, with a reset until a firmware fix can be had.

Not sure if the 2500's were effected but there was a recent 12" Uconnect OTA update. Others had bad outcomes. Wonder if your's is related or it's a new vehicle quality control issue?

I noticed that my 8.4 non-nav system will sometimes do this for a couple minutes after start-up. I haven't taken it in because it's very intermittent, and it's likely it won't be repeatable by the dealership. It's a minor inconvenience for me, but if it was to happen more often or for longer periods of time I'd take it in for sure.

I have the same issue and am currently trying to get it fixed, mine started after they did a software update. I can drive all day and all it says is XM loading, but nothing works. Sometimes I can pull over and turn the truck off, open both front doors and then close them, lock the doors and wait for everything to shut down. Unlock truck restart and it will work. Sometimes I just have to do the above but switch the radio to FM and then when I restart it at least the radio and phone functions will work. It’s a friggin mess! Some of my neighbors that commute at the same time I do must think I’m up to something weird seeing me pull over every day just outside the neighborhood to do this stupid procedure. But if I don’t try to get something working it’s a 45 min commute in silence. What a joke

what’s even worse is that I started a case with Ram Care by phone last Wednesday and they were supposed look into it and to get back to me no later than 3 pm last Friday, they never even called me back! Ram must not CARE!

thanks the dealer called today and has a replacement unit for me. One thing tho as I read in another post if you leave the had unit FM each time you turn the system off everything is ok. When you turn on the unit each time it starts fine then switch to XM and its all good. We’ll see what the new unit does.
