Any way to know payload and towing capacity without looking at door jamb?

Hi all,
Will be ordering a Ram this week. Am playing around with different options and while I don’t tow much, I don’t want to end up with a vehicle that has the towing/payload capacity of a Honda Civic.

Is there a way to find out my towing and payload info before I place my order?

There is a door jam thread around here somewhere with many different configurations. I can tell you that my lightly optioned Bighorn is 1794 lbs. As you get into Limited dual sun roof territory you're looking at 1000 lbs

You can try to find a similarly equipped truck from the online shopping tool and punch the VIN in HERE using the "Lookup my vehicle" link.
My mid-level Laramie as seen in my sig is 1615. Though I have not weighed it since adding the extras

Do not use that. It's nowhere near accurate. I can get it to say a Limited has 1840 pounds of payload. There's not a Limited out there with 1840 payload. That's just the base calculator without any additions on it.

Definitely misleading. It shows a Tradesman and a Limited with the same payload

I would think having your payload capacity be a Civic would be sweet! Might have to upgrade to a HD though.

As already stated. You can see that it is wrong...it shows the same info for each trim


You need to have a VIN to get the accurate info.

That is the only way...and the only completely accurate way is the door jamb.

That ia the curb weight...not the payload...oops...maybe I miss read you you mean you want the payload capacity to haul a civic. Lol

Hi, Looking to order and wanted to know the REAL cargo ability. Looking for pictures of the cargo sticker, Please post Model, gearing and specific options that may alter max cargo weights. ie Limited, 5'7, 4Wd, 3.92 Thanks (see attachment)
