That noise would drive me up the wall. If they couldn't fix it after 3+ visits, I'd be seeing a Lemon law attorney.
That is exactly where I am at right now. The problem has been that they initially wouldn't accept the truck in for service as the noise is not repeatable. You never know when it might happen...

Tell them to reverse the leads on the door speakers. This can be done by repinning the wires at the ANC module/amp depending on which stereo system you have in the truck that way you do not have to pull the door panels. The ANC signal is out of phase by 180 degrees instead of cancelling the noise by producing the tone 180 degrees out it is reproducing a tone at the same phase and is causing a drone. Here's a link to mine from a year ago. I replaced all the door speakers and ended up with a drone after replacement because the wiring diagram in the manual is actually wrong and all the door speakers were reverse phase. Pulled the door panels and reversed the leads going to the speakers and the drone went away.

In the one of the videos the truck is parked with the window down with the RPM held at 2500, I roll up the window and the drone starts a little bit after the window is closed. The drone seems to be very RPM dependent.

They've completely disabled the ANC and it still does it. On another note, it's been much much louder in the past. The dealership plugged it up and simulated the ANC for comparison. Similar tones; However, it's not nearly as loud as what I've heard. Not even close. They're replacing the ECU and hoping that works. Honestly, at this point I'll be happy with any solution. I'm just tired of my brand new truck sounding like this...

I have a few videos of mine and it makes the noise in a fairly wide range of RPM's. Mostly between 1500-2500, but I've also had this happen on the interstate at 80mph. Not sure what the RPM's were, but higher I would assume.

On the 5.7 hemi they actually pipe the engine sound into the cab via the speakers, im not sure how they do it but maybe this is something they can disable? Just throwing it out there.

For what it's worth...same problem here. I have documented the problem on the 5th generation New Member site. Dealer couldn't fix it the first time in.....the noise is worse than ever. Brand new truck...very disappointing. RAM knows there is a problem....they should fix it. Have asked Mark at Ram Cares for assistance....we'll see. This noise really sucks.

Good luck with "Ram Cares". I have tons of documentation dating back to April and FCA won't even acknowledge any of it until I open a case within 14 days of the previous appointment and I've been working with an FCA rep.! I'll be opening a case whenever it is that I get my truck back. Thank goodness for the Lemon Law. With service like this, I don't think I care for a replacement. I'll just buy something else.

Hi vyork,

I certainly understand why this would be concerning. If you do end up addressing this with your dealer, please know that our team is just a private message away and we are more than happy to provide you with an additional layer of support while your truck is in service.

Hi jerrybob,

As our team here is not mechanically trained, I am unfortunately unable to speculate regarding vehicle concerns. Please know that your dealer is in the best position to advise further.

Maybe someone at Ram Cares could ask the Ram folks about this known problem and request a permanent fix. The dealer has no clue and is just guessing what they think it could be. Seems to me.....there are many dealers around the country simply guessing which is time consuming and costly.....this is a problem for new owners and does not speak well of effective customer service. Please know that passing the buck to the dealer is not helping solve the issue. HELP!!!!!

I bought a 2020 RAM Limited and started to hear the white noise makers on the passenger side sound like high wind flow past a vent. I read the forums and spoke to a person that was knowledgeable about the design of the system. I determined that the wire may be too close to the door speaker or something being impacted by EMF under a certain set of circumstances. I checked the wire bundle to the drivers door and the passenger door for comparison and noticed that the passenger side was much much stiffer. I did what I call a wire wiggle on the passenger side, basically exercised the bundle going to the door to get it as loose as the drivers side. After I did this I never heard the sound again. A problem so annoying was fixed by exercising the wire bundle. Woohoo!

Can you post a link to avoid searching the entire section of the forum? Thanks.

Go to new member introduction forum....search....intermittent humming noise and vibration......go to post 197. There are many posts in this thread on the subject....post 197 is what worked for me. Good luck.

When I told an employee with the company about what I did to fix my issue, he mentioned that they were suppose to free the wire bundle at the factory and if they missed it, the dealership was suppose to catch it and free the wire bundle. In my case, neither the factory nor dealership freed the wire bundle as evidenced by it being very very stiff. When Engineering was informed of the wire wiggle fixing the issue, their reply was that it makes sense and that it should have been freed at the factory or dealership.
I hope others find this helpful. What do you have to lose in trying it out on your new truck before you get upset about having to take your new truck into the dealership. It doesn’t cost anything, takes only minutes to try, and will save you lots of waiting time and frustration if it works. I am sure glad that it worked for me.

I noticed this has been discussed a bit in the forum. My concern is now the dealer has replaced the TSB: Active Noise Cancellation Module and the noise persists. At first on a road trip they had to re-configure the module which took noise away at high speeds but made them 10x worse at low speeds. Now with a new module and update it still continues. 30-45 MPH sounds like a drone is flying inside the cab and attributes to a vibration in the steering wheel. I thought I had bought my dream truck and now going on 2 weeks without it is making me second guess my purchase.

Now the dealer is going on a 2nd STAR ticket. Won't have my truck for the holidays and stuck in a rental in which we can not tow with.

Has anybody experienced the same issues?
Hello
I have a 2019 tradesman 1500 4x4 and I experience the same thing. But its only when I have stuff in the bed. And its between 1500 2000 rpms every time. Idk what it is. Something to do with the exhaust I think. Its really annoying though..

Hi @camocurt - If you decide to address this with your dealer at any point, I would be more than happy to escalate a case on your behalf to a specialist who can work alongside both you and your dealer. Our team is always a private message away.

I just replaced my door speakers with Infinity reference 9633IX and have the drone of death loud and clear. Drone is at any and all rpms. So without going crazy trying to figure it out, who has a fix that should/would work before I have to call my dealer for an appointment and a 1 month wait (that's what it took for the floor mat fiasco).
