Remote start and check engine light

Did remote start as I was walking up to my truck tonight. Started fine, my son got in, and then it shut off. Thought that was weird, got in, checked my gas (over half full still). Started from inside and noticed my check engine light is now on.

Just got back from an oil change on Monday so I checked the level. It looks fine.

Anyone else have this? I guess I'll call tomorrow and see if I can get in to check it out
 
Go to auto parts store and get a code reader on it, if dealer is closed
 
Stopped by auto parts store and of course the light is off now. Didn't show up anything for them. Remote start working fine and not shutting off engine after ten seconds anymore.

I'll let my service dealer know in case he has any ideas and just monitor it for now. Wait to see if it happens again I guess. Weird.
 
Seeing as mine has started this the last few days, my guess would be error code: P-0979.
 
I was just able to pull the code about an hour ago. Same symptoms: Remote start fires, then shuts off with CEL light active. If you restart it right away you might be able to get the code. It occured this morning for me, but I did not have my reader (because why the f... would I need it in a new truck) and stayed on while driving and after turning the truck on and off.

Tried remote start tonight and had the same issue (start then shuts off with no message on cluster). Was able to pull the code then. Once I manually started the truck, no CEL anymore.


Strangely to, my clock randomly got reset to 12-hour from 24-hour too.


Not sure if this all ties back to the new recall and the earth ground shorting \ arcing and throwing an error with the ECU.

This morning my Engine light came on for the 3rd time, just got the truck back on Friday for the same thing.

They can't even tell me what the problem is.
The first time this happened about 3 weeks ago they replaced the O2 sensor and it was ok for another week then happened again.

Problem is Eco mode does not come on when the engine light comes up
 
My engine light came on a few days ago. Something, remote start worked for a second and then truck turned off. Couldn't use the remote start again. Turns out, the truck is designed not to remote start of the engine light is on. It's going in Monday to get serviced.

Could be many things with the error code P219A, i am afraid mine might be a lifter in the engine.
This 3rd repair might be the longest for me if they have to take some of the engine apart :(
 
Mine hasn't done it again since that one time. I''ll keep an eye on it and also follow all of your updates. I can't do much if the code doesn't show up and the light hasn't come on again.
 
The truck will not let u do auto start also if ur fuel light is on and low.. just to let y'all know lol it will turn back off
 
just bought a used 2019 2 weeks ago. When I remote start;If somebody opens a Passenger door and I hit the start button my truck will shut off and the CEL will be on when I restart it. It happened a few days ago and I reset it by disconnecting the battery for 20mins. It happened again today when my daughter got in. I disconnected the battery again and actually re-enacted it by remote starting then opening the passenger door. Same thing. Truck shut off and check engine light came on. I have no doubt it’s the passenger door being open that’s causing the truck to shut down and the CEL to come on. My question is is this normal? It seems to be exactly what happened to the original poster.

No not normal, I can remote start and open any door and truck will continue to run. Definitely sound like issue considering its throwing CEL.. try to read code, it would be interesting to see if and what code it is throwing. Either way sound like trip to dealer

Went bought a code reader and the code is U11E9. Grill shutter assembly ‍♂️ I have a bumper to bumper warranty. I’ll be bring it in soon
