I think my steering rack might be leaking? Is this the steering rack?

It looks like motor oil, the filter is right above that area

The reason why I was looking down there is because I’ve been getting a grinding noise that is very noticeable coming thru the steering wheel. It’s like a grinding noise. Any thoughts?

That sounds like a rattle or vibration to me; I don't hear grinding
It’s a weird noise if I put my ear to the steering wheel it sounds really loud.y tires are almost out. Maybe that can be the cause too.

Sounds like the same noise that I have/had. Try applying some light pressure on the backside lip of the steering wheel front plate (the piece with the ram logo) By pressure i mean pulling it towards you. Mine would make that noise at certain speeds and RPMS. I was able to take a rubber ear plug and wedge it between the plate i was describing and the steering column...problem solved...If you need some more clarification I can post a pic once I get home

Thanks for the advise! I will definitely try that out. Same thing it only does it at certain rpms. Can you please post a pic to see exactly where you wedged it in.
