Sensitive parking sensors

Hey, so is anyone else’s rear parking sensors ultra sensitive, to the point of picking up things that aren’t there and the truck slamming the brakes? My truck has done is for shrubs, which is actually something. But my truck has also done it backing out of a friends driveway that is a minor incline and thinks the street is an object and smashes the brakes. Is it just me, or do others find themselves turning off certain parking sensors in seemingly ridiculous situations?

Yea, turn it off and never touch it again ... Try going 35 mph with traffic behind you and the fkn brakes all of a sudden slam on and a big flashing red light on the dash comes on , look in the rear view see 3 cars swerve from hitting each other 1 damn near rear ended me , ... Seconds later said cars are now giving me the middle finger and yelling what i can tell to be fk you from all of them ... Not fun ! ****ty option worthless

When dealing with sensitive sensors, I find it best to speak to them in a very soft voice and maintain a gentle tone.

Funny, "apply" nearly gave me whiplash when It happened the first......and LAST time. Permanently turned OFF.

My rear sensors and brake assist don't do anything if the vehicle isn't in reverse. Do yours?

Yea my rear sensors do nothing unless I’m in reverse thank god

Likely this is not fault of parking sensors but of Forward Collision Warning/Braking System. Two different animals.

Anyone had the flash done and noticed a difference? I’ve turned my rear sensors off because of it slamming on the rear brakes when backing out of a driveway with a SLIGHT incline. I would like to be able to turn it back on.

Post 3 above has a link with more info. I had it flashed and I believe it is better. There are 2 driveways that initially activated the rear park assist now only one.

I'm referring to the active warning brake system and how in reference to the truck slamming the brakes on ... This goes for all sensors that activate it .. In his post it reads as the trucks slamming the brakes on , Do you understand now or does it need to be a tad more clear

This did the same in reverse for me , can go apples to oranges here all day

I got so fed up with the sensors, that I turned them all off.

I turned them off as they were too sensitive as any objects that are near by or plants would set it off! I couldn't back into my garage before the sensor slammed on the brakes just before I entered it!

I just had the flash done last week. It made no difference; the truck still locks up the brakes backing out of my driveway.

My parking sensors have intervened only once, doing a hard brake when backing up for no reason.

I am contemplating turning off the auto braking, but of course leaving the sensors still on. The sensors themselves have been very good to me in tight parking scenarios.
