Wonder if that is why when backing up ,the truck sometimes will blast the brakes so hard it feels like you hit some one and nothing there! Scares the bejeebies out of you!

I think this is a completely different situation. I had the same issue you describe backing out of my driveway when the rear sensors detect the road (I’m coming down a slight grade) as a possible collision and apply the brakes to avoid it. I had to disable the reverse collision avoidance to stop this from happening.

Me too, had to disable it. I saw a YouTube video where the owner was complaining and he stated FCA contacted him and referenced this ABS recall as a fix for this. I had the TSB done and it made no difference to my situation. Backing up slight grade on driveway.

There is a bulletin to address this, had mine done and greatly improved it .

Separate issue. I had to disable rear park sense due to the same issue backing down my driveway that has a gentle slope to it. I can understand giving owners the ability to disable the "feature", but really hate the way driver's information display nags about it being disabled when in reverse.

I wish I could enable it and leave it, but what happened to me with the automatic braking coming out of my driveway will NEVER happen again. I'm the driver. I'm controlling the vehicle. I decide when to jam on the brakes. Just goes to show that a computer's interpretation of the world around it is often flawed.

I had it happen also, as the sensors saw the driveway on a downslope, but rather than disable the feature I keep my foot on the brake when approaching the drop and have not had the probelm since. Also, better to have this feature engaged as just yesterday my neighbor backed into a car that would have been avoided had she had this feature on her vehicle.

Mine was a July build as well, got my notice in the mail a couple weeks ago but have not taken it in yet.
I apologize @Ramit392. I see your original post I quoted was the end of October. I’m sure you have received yours by now maybe, probably when I did. Sometimes when I look through these forums I forget to look at the date of the quote before I respond!

Does your neighbor have a rear view camera, distance warning sensors, or 360 surround camera on her vehicle?

There are plenty of tools available outside of park sense auto-braking. When you have to be quick to get out of your driveway due to traffic conditions, it's not always an option to be as gentle as the programming may allow.

I will not bow to the nannies that build vehicles these days.

Your mileage may vary.

decided to experiment with it out the driveway....Discovered if i go real slow at the end where the road meets the driveway it quit doing it with the sensor engaged at all times, it could save a life or perhaps avoid a hit so I leave it on.:)

My truck did this today and believe it was from the truck's shadow that caused it. About broke my neck as brakes applied hard and jerk vehicle violently. Like the idea, unfortunately it is very flawed! Hate this!
