Wonder if that is why when backing up ,the truck sometimes will blast the brakes so hard it feels like you hit some one and nothing there! Scares the bejeebies out of you!
I think this is a completely different situation. I had the same issue you describe backing out of my driveway when the rear sensors detect the road (I’m coming down a slight grade) as a possible collision and apply the brakes to avoid it. I had to disable the reverse collision avoidance to stop this from happening.
Why have I not received a recall notice on this in the mail yet?

There is a bulletin to address this, had mine done and greatly improved it .I think this is a completely different situation. Separate issue. I had to disable rear park sense due to the same issue backing down my driveway that has a gentle slope to it. I can understand giving owners the ability to disable the "feature", but really hate the way driver's information display nags about it being disabled when in reverse.Wonder if that is why when backing up ,the truck sometimes will blast the brakes so hard it feels like you hit some one and nothing there! Mine was a July build as well, got my notice in the mail a couple weeks ago but have not taken it in yet.Are you sure yours was included in the recall? I see your build date is May ,mine was July and no recall sent.
I apologize @Ramit392. I see your original post I quoted was the end of October. I’m sure you have received yours by now maybe, probably when I did. Sometimes when I look through these forums I forget to look at the date of the quote before I respond!Mine was a July build as well, got my notice in the mail a couple weeks ago but have not taken it in yet.
Does your neighbor have a rear view camera, distance warning sensors, or 360 surround camera on her vehicle? Also, better to have this feature engaged as just yesterday my neighbor backed into a car that would have been avoided had she had this feature on her vehicle.

decided to experiment with it out the driveway....Discovered if i go real slow at the end where the road meets the driveway it quit doing it with the sensor engaged at all times, it could save a life or perhaps avoid a hit so I leave it on.I think this is a completely different situation.
