Just got home from my first road trip in my new truck. (I’m very pleased with the results)
Me, my wife, and our three cattle dogs. Phoenix AZ to Ouray Colorado in the San Juan Moutains. First photo is the outbound drive last Thursday. Including two mountain passes. Speeds ranged from 60-75 mpg. 3.92 rear end. We have long wide open roads out here in the four corners area. Only stops were for gas/bathroom.

The second photo was the return trip. Wednesday 8/14. Again two mountain passes then some long stretches of highway. The return had some big head winds but did very little to the over all MPG.

I’m really pleased with the results for a brand new engine just breaking in. I did hand calculate the MGP at the gas pump along the way and the computer was spot on. (Hemi no eTorque with 3.92 rear axle)

Very similar to my results. The first week I had it I made a run to Las Vegas and got 21.8. Now with a bit over 3000 miles I got almost 24 to Palm Springs. I'll tell you what, though, even ten minutes idling in a traffic jam will destroy all that careful restrained driving. The return trip only came to 22.

Just did 900 miles last week... not even in the ballpark of you. 5 people and bed full of luggage, at 82mph I was getting 14-15mph. At 60-65 I am more in line with those numbers.

Nice numbers! I just picked mine up last week. 5.7 eTorque, 3.92. On the 400 mile drive home I was seeing 18.5-19 at 80MPH average which is great for a full size truck. The MPGs drop fast above 65. I have been staying right at 17 around town/commute. I plan on testing the differences with 89 vs 87 octane fuel as well as the auto start/stop enabled vs disabled. More to come in a few weeks on that.

Agreed on the idling part. We have three dogs. So when were on a trip with them I usually send my wife into the store while I sit in the truck with the air running. Sends the MPG into a nose dive.

Same results with my 3.92. Get it up over 65 and the MPG drops quickly.

Did that really say 108 degrees? Holy crap!

Hey, how did you change the display to show that format?
108 was the temp when we rolled back into Phoenix yesterday. Actually had 111 degrees driving through the center part of the city that is hotter. The trip info is #4 on the scrolling menu for the display cluster just below #3 Fuel Economy. To adjust everything to your liking on the display including the corners just scroll down to #8 Screen Set Up.

Yeah I'm done with this summer. We hit 114 degrees yesterday here in Phoenix. One degree off the all time high for the date. On a positive note my new 1500 is blowing really cold air. I think my wife and I test drove around a dozen 2019 1500's....all with subpar air conditioning. Then 2 weeks ago we drove a loaded Big Horn. The air was amazingly cold on that truck so we pulled the trigger on that one.
