I was planning to insulate the cab of my 2019 RAM Limited. Would like to add a first layer of sound deadener, a second layer isolator and a third layer of sound absorber of silent coat. But I don't know if I should go for a full three layer insulation. Does someone know if the Limited has already some layer of insulation (isolator or absorber) under the carpet? Does someone has a picture of it. Was planning to do the floor and the doors (ofcourse behind the seats too), or should I just insulate with sound deadener?

Google the Fatmax or other sound deadeners if you havent already done so. I haven't pulled my carpet up to check underneath but Id wager the Ltd has a sound deadener padding, that would be logical for their highest trim level.

Interesting, I have a Limited and it seems very quite. At least at highway speeds with radio at normal level I don’t notice road noise at all.
It is indeed a quite vehicle, but I've driven other vehicles (Range rover vogue, mercedes gle500) and they are quieter, especially tire noise. And as I am changing my headers and catback, a decrease of 6dB wouldn't be bad for cruising at highway speeds. Also, I have a S&B CAI and when I floor the pedal, there's an annoying vibration. And it would improve the sound quality of the harman kardon

Gotcha. I am the others responding assumed you were doing this to a stock vehicle, hence the comments or at least my comments anyway. I only responded to begin with to give you a reference point in case you were truly having noise issues. Since you are adding noise........And comparing it to those other two vehicles may not be quite fair. After all, it supposed to be a truck?

Wow home of the autobahn. And you get a truck not for work. When I was in Europe with my 2010 4x4 Laramie, couldn’t wait to get rid of it. To big to park, couldn’t fit in any parking garage. The list goes on. Not to mention the euro gas prices 9 bucks a gallon
Traded for a new beemer. Good luck. Hope you love the truck

I think you should definitely do the rear of the cab and possibly the roof.... what noise I hear entering the cab seems to come from the rear ....I live in the south and it seems I can feel heat coming through the roof ..... I don't think sound deadener would help that much with heat ? something more like a foam product with foil backing.

Sound deadening is just to dampen resonance freqiency which is good, adding insulator will help also against heat. I am planning to do a three layer insulation. Deadening insulator and absorber
