Brand Has Highest Sales Month Ever

June was a record month for the Ram Brand, with pickup sales up 56% over June of last year. For the month Ram sold 68,098 pickups marking the third month that Ram has sold over 60,000 trucks in a single month since December.

“For the first-half of 2019, Ram has been on a tear since we made the strategic decision to enter the year with a three-truck strategy. The new Ram 1500, Ram Classic and Heavy Duty are all generating a huge response from customers and critics alike,” Head of U.S. Sales Reid Bigland said. “This is now the third month Ram pickup sales have surpassed 60,000 since December. Our dealers had a steady stream of customers all month long.”

The Ram Brand as a whole also had their best month since they were launched as a standalone division back in 2009. Overall sales for the brand including the ProMaster and ProMaster City were up to 75,227 in June up 45% from last June when they moved 51,729 units total.

Ram is blowing away the industry average with a sales gain so far through this year of 28%, and a monthly increase of 56.4% while all other competitors are down (we won’t know Fords numbers until tomorrow). Ram has sold 299,480 pickups so far this year with 179,454 of those sold during the second quarter. This puts Ram squarely in the second place spot in sales behind Fords F150 and continuing to pull away from Chevrolets Silverado. Even if you combined the Silverado and Sierras numbers for the month, they still come up roughly 1500 units short of Ram. Here is the Break down for June and the first half of the year:

This is also FCAs last monthly sales report as they are switching to quarterly sales reports as Ford and GM already have so we won’t have any more sales numbers until October. One thing is for sure Ram is gaining market share at an amazing pace.

GMC truck Denali guy rode in my ride last month and bent over seeing the interior. Traded his GMC in for a RAM limited so I'm sure he is a small factor in those numbers.

Yup, I felt the same when trading in my 2015 F150 XLT Supercab for a new Rebel. I loved my F150, but this RAM blew me away with everything it had and for a price I didn't think was possible. So, so happy with my RAM.

FCA hit the bulls-eye with this truck while GM couldn't have done more to screw it up.

I’m probably in the minority who would say the incentives were reason 1, the truck has been out there for months and received very favorable auto press reviews so thats not new. Those incentives made it a stupid easy decision.
My son purchased due to seeing and riding in ours, but the incentives pushed him off the fence. He wasn't even a truck guy (this is now the family car)...

I was looking at the 2019 when it first came out and scoffed at the idea of paying 65k for a damn truck.. hell back where I come from you can damn near buy a house for that.. I was set to get a Tacoma or 4runner, I was just days away and had one Tacoma on hold then I saw the discounts and started working hard to find the best deal.. So it came down 2 buying a Tacoma 4x4 off-road with the tech package and simulated leather seats for about 43 out the door. Great truck I am sure it will last a lifetime and will hold its value.. However once I found out I could get a ram at 30% off MSRP it was a no brainer.. Full size Longhorn 4x4 pretty much loaded for about 1000 more than the Tacoma.. doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure that one out.. this is my 6th ram in my lifetime.. So far its been a great experience.. Just don't do what I did on my 2010 bought it brand new had about 2000 miles on it and then got orders to Vicenza Italy.. Not the best place for a full size truck.. But you do own the road..

Absolutely, some people it was the incentives first. For me, the only RAM I wanted was the Rebel or the Limited, and the incentives made that possible.

For the longest time, RAM was about the deal, not necessarily about the best truck. Now they have both, the best truck and the best deal.

I have liked the new RAM since they came out, but wasn't really pursuing a new truck since my current truck was a 2018 F-150 Platinum.........UNTIL I saw a commercial about 20% off or something like that.

Went to the dealer, got 20k off a Limited and pretty good trade on my Platinum. LOVE the new RAM so far!

I get it. I had a 15’ F150 and thought it did fine, and would have happily gone back to Ford except I couldnt get past paying as much for a Lariat (basically a Laramie) as I could get a Limited (basically a Platinum) for.

My loyalty to Ford didn't run that deep cause my pocketbook was too shallow...

I have to laugh at this thread because 3 RAM dealerships within 30 miles of me have closed in the last 3 months Which means I now have to drive 45 miles one way to get this stupid airbag recall fixed

Weird kind of consolidation but it is what it is. Not because of lack of interest in the product though, right now a Jeep and Ram dealership should be pretty darn good for an investment or a short-term cash cow. Some people (sports, movies stars etc) buy dealerships and can’t get a management team together to run them, a la pro boxers and actors/actresses who end up broke.
