Does anybody else's truck shake at idle? I'm talking when I'm in park, my truck will shake randomly. It doesn't really ever stop, but there doesn't seem to be any real pattern to it, it just shakes however it pleases.

Mine does it slightly as well, as did the 5.7L Hemi in my 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee, along with a 2017 Charger R/T I had as a rental one time. I think it's pretty normal for these engines.

Hello Thewrangler73,

Are you thinking you'd like to get this officially inspected by your dealer? Send us a direct message if you need any help with the servicing process.

Mine does the same - feels like it's trying to move forward ever so slightly and then rocks back....again very slight but definitely noticeable.

Mine only does it when in park and it's still warming up. If I've been driving and roll up to a stop light, I can't tell it's running (in terms of shaking), it's quite surprising how smooth it is that way. 1800 KM on the gauge, so still breaking in I guess.

Mine does the same thing ,so I took in for service and at first my service tech said there was a misfire code in cylinder 6 , then he called me back later and said
there was a TSB for adjusting the pcm . They did that but when I got it back it still shakes at idle same as before. My wife is asking me why this truck shakes like this. I am taking back to the dealer next week.

I paid more attention last night while sitting in it while it was parked. I drove it for about 10 minutes around town, running a few errands. Less than a minute of that time was idling, most of it was driving 35mph. When I got home I parked in the driveway, and I noticed that while it shakes there's also a ticking sound. I'm not too fluent on what different engine ticks sound like, but it went away immediately if I gave it any gas whatsoever, but would come back once my rpms went down. Any ideas on this?

Its just an inherent nature of these trucks, specifically a 19, and specifically on a 19 hemi. Everyone I test drove did this little hop/shake/quiver the first time you start it up for the day. No idea what's causing it, this has been discussed before in another thread.
I thought it might be the way the truck was parked, but seems to do it in any orientation.
After it warms up a bit, its fine, and it doesn't do it on subsequent starts after the initial.

No one else noticed this when you test drove your truck???????

What's an "automatic floorboard"?????

I also lost a automatic floorboard on highway last week! Bracket was broke (I didn’t ride on anything) and lost the floor board!) look at picture! Only only 2500 miles on it!

Could be the active vibration thing mounted to the frame. I’ve felt it a couple times when it wasn’t in sync with the vibrations from the truck and made them worse

stationary or in motion?

This shake/hop/ when parked in idle does this when I'm at cold start up and after its running for a hour or two. You see I use this for business travel and when i stop at a store for food, I lke to eat in my truck . So while I'm sitting in the truck parked in idle mode, I watch my drink shake like a b**ch and watch the hood bounce back and forth. After a while it kind of rocks me to sleep, kinda like massage seats. ;)
So is it a inherent problem with the 5.7 hemi's , so be it but it might be the last Ram I buy. ( And I really love this truck by the way)

I have a Rebel. Mine doesn’t shake at all. It purrs. No shake.

If anyone’s truck shakes that bad you should take it to the dealer
