6" lift on a with 37s performance report?

Was talking to my buddy and he says 6" with 37s is alot for a 1500. Don't think we have too many options seeing it's the only real lift out I've seen. Not talking about the ready lift stuff.

Trying to see if waiting for a true 4" is right move.
 
A lot of it depends on the wheel, something like a 22x14 and 37s doesn’t belong on a 1500. Doesn’t really belong on anything, but certainly better on a 2500. It’s a lot of stress due to the extreme offset.

But a 10” wheel and 37s will be fine. 12 would be aggressive with a 37 but probably ok if you keep any eye on the front end. I’m going to do 12s I think, maybe 11s if I can find something.

These trucks are WAY stronger than “a 1500”. Thats a carryover from the 90s when IFS trucks fell apart.

You will want 3.92s for sure. Or regear but don’t even know if that’s possible. 37s and 3.21s is not going to be good for highway speed driving. For sure won’t stay in 8th ever.
 
Okay yes he was worried about the gearing as well. I've got the 3.92s.

I've been quoted for: (4wheelparts)
Procomp 6" / for their warranty
20x9.5 wheels / Procomp 46s
35/12.5 / Procomp LT AT Sports

For like 5.2k
Alot of deals on there stuff haha

Just making sure it's good move being cautious. Didn't know if it was too large of a lift for the wheel base. Don't want to kill the feel of drive.

no It’s fine. It’s not really going to be that tall. It’s about the same as a leveled 2500. Maybe a 1” taller or so.

Everyone and their brother levels and tosses 35s on half ton trucks these days. You can for sure run 37s if you wanted. It will drive better with 35s though, performance wise. 37s kind of take you to that next level of “lifted truck” feel.

You could also potentially lower the lift as well, by using a shorter strut spacer on top. But then you would have to source some kind of rear option that would sit where you want. Shorter spring or spacer or something. If you wanted it to sit closer to 4.5-5 to fill in the fender more.

Yea. Didn't think about that. With the 6" I feel 37s pair nice. But 35s make don't looks quite right. Which is why I feel 4-5" would be perfect for 35s.
 
You can check performancelifts for good prices, or rockymountainsuspension

I recommend calling both for best deals.

4 wheel parts is procomp, same company. That’s why they have deals on it.

37's is a lot with stock gear ratios. to run them effectively you need to go with 4.55 or smaller. RC has a 5 inch but I haven't seen a 4" yet. Fingers crossed on a BDS release soon
 
With modern 8spd trans and 3.92s it will drive decent on 37s, at least under ~65.

But 4.56 would be better. Can you even regear these trucks up front? No one probably knows yet. 4.30s would probably be spot on, but not an option usually.

I mean they are way over geared with 3.92 stock, even the rebel. My highway rpm is sky high.

No front end yet unless you can find an 18 and pull it off there. It'll run it just wont run great. I'll take a pic of my buddies 18 with 37's next time I see it. hes got 3.92 and hes pretty fed up with it on his stock ratio. He struggles to keep it in 8th and with the exhaust its very annoying
 
Yea the 8spd does nothing for highway driving. Still same O/D ratios as always. In fact they are usually taller so that doesn’t help.

Good thing with these trucks is you can just manually stick it in 7th.

Not sure if you've pulled the trigger on this or not but BDS is now out with their 6" kit. One of the key differentiators is BDS will allow 18" rims whereas all others to date require 20's. In my mind, 35's on 18" wheels will give you the perfect rim/tire/sidewall combo. I'm not a fan of 35's on 20's.... the street performance is just fine but I like a little more sidewall in rocks. Just food for thought
 
I have 37’s on 5”RC lift kit for the air suspension. Love it. Minus the gas mileage.

BDS has a way better 6" coilover kit and average price with install is 5400 bucks. It has piggybacked rear shocks and external 12 and 10 way adjustable front shocks all done by fox.. I'm in the same contemplation as to my lift and tire size right now. I'm going to run an 18" rim for sure because I'm building an overland rig with my 2021 ram laramie with 3:92 gears. To be honest, there are some lighter 37" tires. Toyos are 100 lbs I think and there are some that are only 75 or so but the bigger the rim the less rubber and they will be lighter. Now I dont know how well the new ram 1500's components will handle 37's and no one had a definitive answer on that but I do know 35's are way lighter and its only a 1" difference around the circumference of the wheel.... I am still weighing out options as to what is the best route.. Just remember that adding 400lbs in rolling mass of 4 37"s is more like adding 1000 lbs or weight when it comes to abuse and stopping power because of momentum.....

i also like 18 inch look im on 35/ with trx take offs
 
37s on a 1500 are going to be hell on suspension and steering components. I hope you like replacing parts.

Should have bought an HD if you wanted 37s. They fit them stock with the correct wheel offset.

Having owned a 2014 3500 on 37s and a 2019 3500 on 37s, both on only 2" of lift, the components on these 1500s are toys compared to the HD trucks.

Yeah thats what I thought as well, decided to run 35's on an 18" rim, I had a 99 that ran 38" swampers and it did fine for the 5 years I owned it with no problems at all except a broken spindle due to defective part. Just wondered how the new trucks were as far as components
