Which rubber bed mat?

I have the OEM spray in bed liner, but I've always put an additional rubber bed mat in my trucks to make for easier cleanup. Coming from a Ford, and never having a Ram before, I was wondering what mat everyone prefers. I have a 2019 Limited due in this week that includes the Bed Utility Group. First, I wanted to ensure that with the bed partitioning device that's part of the Utility Group that a bed mat would still work...didn't know if the extra 1/8" or so of mat would cause the divider to not work properly. Also...I don't see that Mopar has a specific bed mat (in the past, Ford always had a logo'd mat). With that being said, does Mopar have one I'm not seeing...or is there another popular option?

I bought a dee zee rubber mat and think it’s great. You cut the length to size. I use the extra piece as a mat to work under my truck. You can also get carpeted if you prefer, I did not. I have ramboxes so I got one without the wheel well cutouts. Here are some choices:

https://www.amazon.com/s?k=dee+zee+...9RF6&sprefix=dee+zee+heav&ref=nb_sb_ss_i_0_12

Here are Mopar:

I had the DeeZee on my last Ram. That said, I am waiting for Weathertech to make their version since sliding coolers on that rubber mat was darn near impossible. I love the rubber mats for the cushion to blows and keeping cargo from sliding around, but when loading heaving stuff that I need to slide into the bed I curse them under my breath every time lol. And being in the comp bbq world I have to load coolers constantly so I'm hoping the Weathertech for the new body style will be the right mix of keeping things stable but allowing them to slide.

That's definitely understandable. I'm looking for something that won't slide (for grocery bags and regular items), so it sounds like the DeeZee would be the way to go.

When I go to the Mopar site, I see plenty of mats...but when I enter 2019 Ram 1500...there's no option for a bed mat that fits. Do you know which one it's supposed to be? I like the ones with the Ram logo, but it's not a requirement. The truck I ordered doesn't have Ramboxes.

I would call the guys at moparamerica to make sure. They are very nice. It also depends on your bed size (short or long). I know they make one for our trucks. It’s just a matter of if want to pay $140 before discount plus shipping for Mopar or $75 shipped from amazon for a dee zee. I keep a Tonneau cover on mine so the mat is strictly for my knees and to keep things from sliding around. Nothing moves on this thing! So spending the extra money on Mopar didn’t make sense for me. If I had an uncovered bed, I’d probably go with the Mopar mat so it would have the logo and not require trimming.

Also note that the dee zee mat has a big skid guard logo on it. That might bother you. It didn’t bother me. When I trimmed it I did it so that logo is all the way to the rear of the bed so I don’t even see it. Another thing is this mat has a powerful rubber smell that dissipates a bit but never truly goes away. Again this doesn’t bother me since it’s outside in the bed but if you garage your truck it might make your garage stink a bit? I’m not sure if the Mopar one has the same issue. It’s a strong “chemical rubber” smell if that makes sense. After a few weeks being outside it gets better but it’s still present to some extent.

Thanks for the information. I'd say I'm a little OCD (maybe even the real thing). I'd prefer the RAM logo. Although I don't mind the trimming nor the smell, I like things to "match". This little problem costs me more money than I'd like to admit. I may call the Mopar folks, as I do have the Utility Group and I'd want to ensure that the divider won't have clearance issues with the additional of a rubber mat into a bed with a spray-in liner...not sure how exact everything may be.

Totally understand. Im the same way. That’s why I didn’t go with the Mopar mat because I knew I was going to muck this thing up between the elements and my gear and walking on it etc, and if it were “mopar“ I’d feel like I’d need to baby it and clean it all the time! Haha. So now I view it as a true “mat”. Anyway I have the utility group, spray in liner, this rubber mat (which I have to imagine is as thick or thicker than the Mopar one) and I have the oem bed divider/extender arriving tomorrow so I will know if there are any fitment issues.

Perfect...and yes, please update as to if there's any clearance issues. I wouldn't "think" there would be...but of course, that's exactly when those problem come up. Also...when you have a chance, I'd like to have the link to the exact one that you bought.

This is the exact one I bought:

Make sure you look at the customer pics because they show the mat much better than the stock pics, especially the big logo on it.

My comments on this is that it is truly heavy duty. It won’t move in your bed and anything you put on it won’t move (it’s almost tacky but not in a bad way). You’re not sliding things easily across this thing.

I had thought about a "rug"...but I too often get wet stuff in there, and I fear it would start to look bad (stained) and probably smell bad too.

Just to update you. I put the divider/extender in with the dee zee rubber mat and I have a factory spray in liner and the Sentry Tonneau cover, no fitment issues at all. Not even close. Plenty of room.

One thing to note with this oem divider/extender. When you use it as an extender, the arms don’t sit flush against the mounting pegs (handles) which is counterintuitive to me. Once you put the extender on the pegs/handles, and you go to turn the handle into the locking position, you would “think” that the extender should sit flush with the handle BUT the handle will not turn and lock if you have it positioned like that. The extender arm has to be at an angle and the extender pushed out toward the rear of the tailgate. Only then will the handles turn into the lock position.

Here is the Mopar Rubber bed mat. About the same price or less with negotiating with Ram Dealership. It's heavy duty and seems to be made very well. It has the ram logo and also comes with a tailgate piece as well. It requires drilling to mount the bottom position of the tailgate mat if u want. I opted to just mount the top with the existing mounting points and left the bottom alone as I don't feel the need to secure the bottom portion because of my cover and I don't want to break paint. You could even use hook and loop strips if u wanted on tailgate piece. Seems like it's made of recycled materials probably tires of some sort. It has different colored materials in the rubber but it is overall black in color and is very tack to the touch when new which I like , it keeps things from sliding around.

Yeah I aired out a oem mat in the sun for 3 weeks because of that, it reeked, but I traded the vehicle and the next one didn’t smell as bad for as long.

I’m debating husky or molar bed mat for nyself

Kind of an old thread since the last reply but I just got a rough country one. Decent fit. Pretty heavy duty. Looks good. I think it was like $100
