360 Degree Camera - Is there a way to auto activate front when parking forward?

I dragged the camera icon to lower icon bar, but you still have to fumble around and click the front view.

Is there a way to have the front camera come on when it senses something infront of you at really low speeds? Front parking mode?

We have 2 Infiniti's, Q70L and QX80. when you pull in the garage or start pulling into parking space, the front camera automatically comes on, with same distance bars your get when you put the RAM in reverse.

Its so nice for parking, especially in the bigger SUV truck. Dont realize what good feature it is until its gone.

The only way is to do what you are doing BUT note there are two camera apps. One for backup/hitching and one for surround camera. That one will show the surround and front/rear camera depending on what gear you are in. I have that as my left most icon and it's easy to tap pulling in and shows both 360 and front view.

This is how the 12" works. You didn't specify what you have so your results may vary.

Just replace the rear view camera shortcut at the bottom of the screen with the surround view camera shortcut. That's what I did.

I was just wondering if you could have the distance lines on the front camera like the rear and turns on automatically when you get so close to anything.

I dont know how Infiniti does it, but their setup turns the front camera on whenever you get so close to anything in front or side, with the distance lines. Didnt know if that was possible with the uconnects and making customization's.

There are no distance lines on the front camera, but you should see the sensors lit up on your console and hear the beep if you are getting too close to anything up front

I don't think you can do the same thing you're Infiniti does. That sounds really neat though and I'd love the feature.

Our 2018 MB and, most European cars automatically come on. I found this thread, bc I too am.frustrated that it's not automatic on my 2024 Longhorne Limited! Wow, 2014 Chevy's have this. Ridiculous

You can’t do that from factory but you can with Tazer DT. Look into it. I have it set up that when I pull up to something and the front sensors engage, The front camera engages automatically. You can also activate auto folding mirrors and so many other neat things with Tazer DT. One of the best things I did to the truck.

my current 2021 Silverado does this as well as our Buick each a little different because of option packages. the truck doesn't have 360 camara and the Buick does. pulling in or backing into the garage the icon of the front or rear of the vehicle comes on in the dash and the green bars start lighting up and when to close they turn red on the truck. the Buick uses the front camara as the OPs infinity does. shows the front of the SUV and starts out with green bars and goes to red with fast beeps and a vibration in your seat. if my new ram doesn't have this, I will miss it terribly. we rely on that system because the garage is really tight in the summer with the boat home and the john deere has to be in front of the cars for the boat to fit in the garage. all 3 plus the Deere and not much room.
