Over the past couple of years, we have seen numerous digital renderings of a modern-day sport truck based on the supercharged Ram TRX. But this latest one from our friend Oscar Vargas (@wb.artist20), has been catching a lot of attention over the past week.
The Ram 1500 TRX-based sport truck is dubbed “HELLRAM” for a reason. Under the hood, it continues to sport the awesome supercharged 6.2-liter HEMI HELLCAT V8 that we all have come to love. But this is beyond your typical digital design.
The TRX Crew Cab 5-foot, 7-inch box has been morphed into a Regular Cab 6-foot, 4-inch box giving it more of a true early-2000s sport truck look. Gone is the aggressive off-road suspension in favor of a more lowered and planted stance. Forget the 18-inch Beadlock wheels, there looks to be a massive set of 24-inch aftermarket wheels that this supercharged monster sits on.
But what really gets us, is the amount of detail put into this design. The HELLRAM features a Charger Widebody-inspired carbon fiber hood kit. Both the front and rear bumpers, side skirts, hood, tonneau cover, and rear spoiler are done up in the lightweight material and look amazing.
A unique HELLRAM SRT logo adorns the doors, grille, and tailgate, making sure people don’t mistake this for an ordinary Ram 1500 (as if they would).
But to top it all off, as if the beautiful images weren’t enough. He included a full 360-degree digital tour of the truck, complete with HELLCAT sounds from the Borla exhaust. Now that is awesome.
We truly wish that such a truck could be built in the aftermarket. Hell, it needs to be.
All of the Big-3 truck makers offer some type of performance off-road pickup at the moment. And while off-road pickups are awesome, there are some of us, me included who wish they would focus some of the performance talents for those of us who stay on the pavement for a majority of the time.
