Rebel X Returns: Ram Brings Back Premium Off-Road Package For 2026
Premium Content, Rough Road Cruise Control, And New Tank Green Highlight The Return
When Ram first rolled out the Rebel X package last year, it was meant to celebrate a decade of the Rebel nameplate. The “X” marked 10 years of Rebel attitude. But customer response made one thing clear: this wasn’t just a one-year anniversary package. Buyers wanted it to stick around.
For 2026, the Ram 1500 Rebel X returns—this time not as a celebration, but as a permanent answer to those who want their off-road truck loaded with more comfort, more tech, and more performance straight from the factory.
Premium Meets Purpose

The Rebel has always been Ram’s go-to half-ton for off-road capability without stepping into full-blown Raptor or TRX territory. It’s rugged, factory-lifted, and built to leave pavement behind. The Rebel X takes that formula and layers on premium content in a way that feels purposeful rather than flashy.
Built on the Rebel Level 2 Equipment Group, Rebel X adds a dual-pane panoramic sunroof, a console-mounted performance shifter, and steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters. Inside, you’ll find premium seating trimmed with red accent stitching and a unique glass-encased center console badge that reminds you this isn’t your average Rebel. On the outside, “Rebel X” bedside graphics separate it visually from the rest of the lineup.
It’s the kind of package that makes the truck feel special without compromising its trail-ready attitude.
HURRICANE Power Only

If you’re hunting for the old 5.7-liter (345 cubic-inch) HEMI® V8, you won’t find it here. Ram returns the Rebel X unchanged in the powertrain department for 2026.
Under the hood of the Rebel X sits the standard-output (S/O) version of the twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter HURRICANE I6. In S/O form, it produces 420 horsepower and 469 lb.-ft. of torque. That’s 25 more horsepower and 59 lb.-ft. of torque than the outgoing HEMI V8 delivered. It is also mated to the same 8HP75 ZF-sourced 8-speed automatic as the HEMI, which means it’s ready to hit the pavement, trail head, or tow whatever you throw at it.
In plain English? It’s quicker, stronger, and more efficient. The torque comes on fast and pulls hard, which is exactly what you want in a truck built for sand, mud, rocks, or highway merging with confidence. Ram’s move to the HURRICANE platform for the Rebel X isn’t about losing V8 character—it’s about improving overall performance.
Exclusive Off-Road Tech

One of the most interesting features exclusive to Rebel X is Rough Road Cruise Control. This advanced system automatically adjusts suspension damping and steering weight based on terrain while maintaining speeds up to 20 mph.
Think of it as low-speed off-road cruise control. It helps maintain steady momentum over uneven ground without constantly working the throttle. For technical trails or rough backroads, it reduces driver fatigue and increases confidence. It’s a smart addition that makes this truck more than just a trim package with cosmetic upgrades.

Tough As A Tank, And Looks Like One Too

Rebel X also debuts a new color for 2026: Tank Clear-Coat. Inspired by military green tones, Tank adds another earthy hue to the Ram 1500 lineup. It fits perfectly with the Rebel’s off-road personality and gives buyers something bold but not over-the-top.
The good news? Tank won’t be limited strictly to Rebel X. Ram is expanding the availability of the color to select models across the broader 1500 lineup.
2026 Rebel X Colors Include:
-
Bright White Clear-Coat (PW7)
-
Diamond Black Crystal Pearl-Coat (PXJ)
-
Forged Blue Metallic (PBY)

You might remember that Tank debuted on the Ram 1500 (DT) trucks in November 2020, as the fourth release in the “Built To Serve” series. As someone who appreciates unique greens in the truck world, this one hits the mark.
Configuration and Pricing

Like the standard Rebel, the 2026 Rebel X will be offered exclusively in Crew Cab configuration with a 5-foot, 7-inch bed. That keeps it versatile for families, gear hauling, and weekend adventures.
Orders are now open, with U.S. pricing starting at $71,930, including destination.
While some automakers are trimming down their offerings, Ram continues to expand. In 2026 alone, we’ve seen new trims like the Express and Black Express, expanded powertrain options, and even aftermarket collaborations like the Direct Connection-based DC650 sport truck from Fox Factory Vehicles.
And the momentum doesn’t stop there. The return of the Ram 1500 SRT TRX is already confirmed for 2027, along with a Cummins-powered Ram 2500 Power Wagon.
The Rebel X fits right into that strategy. It gives customers more content, more performance, and more value in a package that feels thoughtfully built rather than thrown together.
Ram isn’t slowing down—and the Rebel X proves it.
