Took my new truck by the dealer to schedule a time to have the sunshade for the panoramic sunroof repaired. We were told that they were scheduling out in mid-January and to contact our salesperson to get in earlier. I also see a number of comments regarding replacement parts being unavailable.

This is my first FCA vehicle. Is this "normal"? What have you folks experienced?

My 2019 has been to a FCA dealership 2 times so far. Both times I just go there and drop it off with no appointment. The first issue took approx 23 days for the part I needed to arrive which they claimed was on national back order.

Is it a high volume dealership? Could account for long wait time. If they can't fit you in sooner I would check with other dealers if available if it's something pressing needing done. And yes, parts availability right now is horrendous, hard to tell depending on what is needing replaced.

The longest I ever had to wait for a service appointment at my dealer (and other dealers in the past) was a few days. Mid January is crazy. I would find another dealership.

Got a call for my appointment. January 7th. Fortunately, it's just the sunshade for the sunroof. It's nothing critical. May be interesting if new parts are involved and not in stock. We'll see.

I’ve been waiting since July for the last part needed to replace my back seat.

I've had three quality issues that needed to be addressed, only one required a part. That was the upper glove box assembly. They rescheduled the follow-up appointment after waiting five days for the part.

Best regards,
Dusty

I have a water leak where my front driver carpet gets soaked. I have been trying to get this issue fixed since December. The sunroof was looked at in mid January. I was told this issue needed to be looked at by the water specialist. After waiting for 2 weeks for an appointment with the water specialist, today I was told the specialist would not get to look at my truck. I took the day off to drop the truck off. Now I am told the next appointment is not for another 2 weeks. I don't mind having issues but not being able to get an issue looked at is frustrating.

It's not normal for FCA, but it can be for an under staffed or poorly run service department.

I have had some wait times with my dealer, but nothing more than 3-4 days for routine or warranty stuff. Less if it's serious.

Dusty

It might be an issue with my region. I could not get an appointment with the water specialist at the dealer I bought my truck from for 3 months. The dealer I am dealing with now is closer to me but they did not have a truck with the options I wanted in their inventory. This dealer however said they could get the issue looked at in mid Jan. Still waiting.

What I don't understand is how can FCA under staff an issue that is apparently happening quite frequently. Poor quality and poor planning is a bad combination for customers.

Waiting on parts since delivery (early September) for a minor issue. First attempt at repair failed.
