WTF? Anyone else with a Limited or Tungsten have severe chipping on your wheel well trim?

We have 3500 miles on our 2025 Limited. We got it in december and we don't drive all that much. It finally got its first real hand wash yesterday and I noticed pretty severe chipping on the fronts of both rear wheel well trims. It went thru half a winter here in NY. I have never seen this much wear this FAST on any vehicle we have bought before. Very disappointing to see this. Anyone else seeing wear like this? Is this normal? Can we do anything about it?
FWIW, We have had 3 rams and I have never seen anything like this on any of them. ****, I have never seen anything like this on any vehicle we have owned, ever. It looks like it has 100K+ miles on it....

It's not just Limited and Tungsten models. It happens with any model 5th gen with painted factory fender flares. And the factory ppf is a joke. That spot is very vulnerable to rock chips. You should see what our 2020 Limited looks like. I used to worry about it when the truck was new lol.

High speed plus sand can really do its number on paint.. thats not a RAM issue that just automotive paint isn’t strong enough to resist that. I know you say you hardly drive but again you don’t really know whats kicking up on the roads you’re driving over.

My OCD is bad enough with front bumper chips to deal your pics are the reason why I shy away from power running boards. My 22' Laramie Night Edition front trim rear wheels still look new after 15k. Note I drive 1mi on gravel road to my favorite fishing reservoir that's 2mi total. Front flaps help but the full length running boards are the ticket.

eliminated most of that with flaps.
If flaps help I'd hate to see what mine would look like if I didn't have flaps lol. I agree with Phippy about the running boards. Power steps do nothing to protect that area.

okay so that's the second thing i could live without. the only things i would change
#1 rotary shifter
#2 fender flairs

that's crazy, my 19 Limited wheel flares still look great! I do run mud guards though, and have since I bought the truck in 2020.

Some on my rear wheels… but at some point, you’re chasing perfection.
PPF the whole truck if that’s a concern.
I did PPF on the whole front of my truck as a concern for rock chips, and it’s already paid for itself in that regard.
