I'm not looking for an EV. However, this "truck" interests me for a few reasons. First, it is inexpensive. Second, it is very basic. Third, it appears that the mfr has considered the desire of many buyers to customize their vehicles. I'm not saying that I would put cash down to reserve one, but I'm also not saying I wouldn't. For a DD back and forth to work, that could still tote a few items for a home repair or yard work, it fits the bill.

What I would really like to see is for Ram to bring back a truck like this: 2 doors, long bed, basic-ish yet still something that embraces mods. What say the masses?

Interesting concept to be able to customize to that level but it's a compromise on every other aspect. It's a hard pass for me.

I’m skeptical, especially that it’ll stay under $20K, but yeah, I’d consider it as a third vehicle (after my wife’s CUV and my Ram). And honestly, I’d probably drive it more than my Ram, for quick trips to the store, and what not.

A small, cheap EV with 150-ish mile range makes more sense than the five ton Hummer with 300-ish range.

for the price i much rather buy a Japanese import Kei Truck with stick shift. much more fun to drive.

I've always thought the big three missed the boat when they stopped offering a single cab with an 8' bed in a 1500 series. I would not hesitate to give up the quad cab I have to get to an 8' bed if I could get it equipped like it is now.

20k I would just buy a older S10/Ranger/Silverado and use that for home improvement runs or even a 4th gen used Ram v6 single cab express/tradesman.

I don't like EV's, but I think EVs have a place: 2nd vehicle, commuter, short range, errands.

We can all agree every household should have a real truck. The 1000 lb tow capacity would still force me to have a V8.

And like jkm312 said, I'd give up the crew cab for a regular cab, 8 ft bed, if I could get it similarily equipped.
