I'm considering a 2020 Powerwagon and currently have a 2016 1500 Bighorn. Both will have a 6'4" bed both will have a CrewCab. How much changed between the generations and what will affect fit up on the 2020. My current cap is a Leer 100XR with a Leer Locker, I would hate to have to buy another one. Any pictures would be appreciated.

Short answer is No it wont the beds are totally different. I wanted to put my tri fold cover off my 18 onto my 20 and wouldn't fit.

Here is what I have found out . . . . . . The 2020 HD models have the same bed and cab profile (as far as the fitment for a cap is concerned) as the gen 4 1500s or the current classic 1500 models. I had measured all the bed dimensions on my truck 2016 1500 Crew Cab 6'4" bed and then from a 2020 2500 HD model. All dimensions matched. Then, while negotiating for the Power Wagon the dealer allowed me to set my cap, Leer 100XR, on another 2020 2500 with a 6'4" bed, perfect fit, same alignment and gaps etc. Now I am waiting for the Power Wagon to arrive at the dealer. Pics to follow. Everybody I talked to, Leer, dealers etc., all told me the trucks were completely different from the redesign in 2019, for the 1500 yes, not so for the HDs. I'm glad I did the footwork myself, it will save me a lot of money.

This was my understanding too, but I had no first hand knowledge of this. Which is why I didn't post in here sooner. I've read that the HD redesign will change that though, and hopefully will be the same as the new 1500 as far as dimensions go. Glad to hear you persevered and put in the work, and were rewarded with being able to save some $$$..
