Why 0/20 Oil for 2023 5.7

Attachments

It is quite true that a lot of the changes vehicle manufacturers make have very small effects on the fuel efficiency of the vehicle. But that's just how things work. Small gains made from year to year make a large difference in a few years. If small incremental gains are not accepted and used then no changes will ever be made. If Ram didn't make changes that actually only make small gains in fuel efficiency then soon a major change would have to be made to make up the difference. I for one would much rather see small changes year to year rather than a large untested change every 5 years. If it weren't for small changes year to year we would still be driving 1960 trucks. You may want that, but I don't. Those trucks in the 1960s had one thing going for them. They cost less than $2000. But then my parent's total income was less than $4000 per year.

It will be a sad day when forums are filled with eco-warriors wondering which electrons are best for the battery, solar or wind? It won't have the same depth or acumen that an oil debate would produce.

0w-20 and 5w-20 are the same viscosity when hot, the only difference is that 0w flows better on cold start.
SO MANY guys here that think 5w20 is thicker than 0w20 ................I think that the word thick applies more to a certain group..... LOL
