Hey all, newbie here. I’ve had gm’s for what seems like forever. Recently my 15’ Sierra was written off. Probably a rush decision on my part but I purchased a ‘19 Sierra slt crew. Had it for a couple months and not really a fan. Thinking of getting a ‘20 Ram bighorn crew with 6.4’ box and ram box. Anyone else switched brands and any regrets?

I just switched from a 2010 Sierra to a 2020 ecodiesel, I am blown away by how far things have come with pickup trucks. Almost 500 miles on the new truck so far.

no regrets...always had Ford trucks, my buddy bought a brand new 2019 F-150 last summer, had the V8, engine was drinking oil crazy,(known issue last year), wound up trading in for another F-150 now with the Ecoboost, truck is now in the shop for broken sunroof track...got me thinking, maybe I'll look into this new Ram 1500 everyone is talking up on the inter-webs...so I test drove a Patriot Blue 2019 Limited......that truck is now in my garage. Holy cow, never knew a truck could be like this!!!..LOVE this truck!

Had a 17 Silverado 1500 Z71 with a 6 inch lift and 35s. I loved the truck but decided to try something different this time around . I must admit this Rebel with the ecodiesel is pretty awesome .

Had new:
  • 2009 F150 XLT
  • 2013 F150 XLT
  • 2015 F150 Lariat
  • 2016 Ram 1500 Laramie
  • 2017 F150 Lariat
  • Now my 2020 Ram 1500 Laramie
This truck is easily my favorite of the bunch. It is the only one I can honestly say I've gone out of my way to "take the long way home" and just go on drives to spend time in it or just to look at it. Had great luck with all my Fords but was getting bored honestly. I had the 2016 Ram and has some minor problems with loose trim, wheel discoloration, and cosmetic stuff, but loved the way it drove, looked, and felt.

I come from a long line of Ford family members, but so far, I am absolutely thrilled. This thing is amazing...love the way it looks, inside/out, drives, handles, and performs. And all the little, thoughtful nuances that you don't always notice until after you've had it for a while are just icing on the cake. Easy five-star for me so far, no regrets whatsoever.

2015 Silverado 2500 HD -> 2019 Laramie 3500 Megacab (me)
2016 Lexus GX -> 2019 Laramie Longhorn (wife)

So far both have had minor issues but in all reality well under the historical averages for first year gremlins. Not problem free but overall we both love what we have and hope to have them for some time to come. Well until the next gen is released lol

Left 17 years of Ford trucks to buy my 2019 Ram 1500. My decision was more for dealership experience with my local CDJR dealer and the lack of service from both of my local Ford dealers. I’m happy I made the switch for sure.

I have been switching back and forth between Ram /Dodge and Ford since 2006. As much as I wanted to check out GMC / Chevrolet (I like the 6.2l engine) no rear seat a/c was a no way Jose when living in Florida. I'm actually getting interested in the EV trucks that'll be coming out in the next couple of years. I'm hoping I don't get bored with this truck so my next will be an EV pickup

I've had several Silverado's over the years, and one Ford F-150 SuperCrew back in 2002. I'm very happy with my 2020 Ram Rebel. I have just about 3200 miles on it, and I love driving it. Tons of power, quiet, awesome stock stereo and lots of creature comforts. I have a few first-world issues in that I'd like remote start, and a few other little items but not a single complaint otherwise. As for Chevy, I want to like their trucks, but I just dont...

Originally I was planning on buying a 2020 2500 Tradesmen with 6.4 but test drove the Rebel first. I didn't even make it into the 2500 for a test drive before I told them I wanted to deal on the Rebel.

Came from a 2008 Nissan Titan King Cab. Power-wise it is comparable to my Titan with headers, exhaust, tune, etc. Only reason I got a different truck was because it wasn't a Crew Cab. Initially I had some buyer's remorse, mainly just because it's a stupid expensive truck, but after a month of driving it around I'm loving it. 100% happy, and now I force my wife to go in the truck instead of our 2018 Pathfinder because I can't stand Nissan's entertainment system/UI.

UConnect is 1000 times better than NissanConnect.

Been a Chevy guy for a long time. I traded my 2015 Silverado LTZ 4x4 for a 2020 1500 Limited 4x4. Very pleased with all the bells and whistles. The interior is very luxurious. Rides like a luxury car. Nothing can compare to the value the RAM has.

I had 3 generations of GMs prior and honestly never thought I'd own a Ram. But, GM totally dropped the ball on the interior of the latest generation and Ram stepped it up.

I absolutely love my Ram. I have to confess, I committed the mortal sin of not test driving a Ram once before I factory ordered. I had a 200 mile ride home from the dealership the day I pickef up my Ram. After the first 30 minutes, I knew I made the right choice.

I left Ford. Didnt want to but an equivalent truck (well, mostly trim equivalent because the ecoboost and 10 speed have no RAM equivalent) was over $10K more and Ford wasn’t dealing back in April 2019.

My son took my wife for a look/sit/drive in the Ltd RAM and I was done for. I tried putting her in a Denali trim Chevy suv, a Honda Pilot Touring, an upscale Odyssey van, even looked at a Lexus suv but either the prices equaled or exceeded a RAM or she just said “no”. My last gasp defense was “but it won’t fit in the garage” so she went out and measured and announced “it fits by 3”. Game over.

I totally get your distaste for vehicle issues. Had I been having some of the ‘lemoned’ RAM’s that have been profiled on this forum, I’d have been sick to my stomach and traded off as well. Sorry that you had a bad experience, and I hope your new Chev holds together well.

Honestly I’d accept the keys for any 2019 or 2020 full sized truck and not look back. I’m partial to one brand (starts with F) but not a diehard so it’s all good.
First world issues we are living with...

Hopefully this (ridiculously expensive) truck will hold up, but for now my wife is happy with it, (it was for her so)... after 34 yrs married, I just “write the check”.

Like Lax, I came here from Nissan, which I drove for almost 25 years - first hardbodies, then Frontier, then Titan. I probably would still be in a Titan except the "new" body style is ugly as hell and my local Nissan dealership sucks for selling vehicles and never wants to make a deal and I am getting too old to drive all over creation to get a decent deal. I got a well loaded 2019 Ram Bighorn crew cab 4wd for under $37k, and no one was willing to come anywhere close to that. Besides which it's a hell of a nice truck. I'm no loyalist - I want what is the best truck for the money - and I wasn't willing to pay more than $38k for the options I need - and only Ram would deal. That it is the best driving truck out there right now, and feels like quality, is a bonus.
