I think you are very confused on both the questions you are asking.Anyone know how to update a Vlinker MC+? Need to do some mods with Jscan and forgot I had the Vlinker and bypass cable from a previous Ram.
Bonus question, Jscan or Taser DT?
Didn't think i was confused but it is Monday.... I wanted to see if there is a firmware update for the Vlinker before I make the updates to the truck. Bypass+Vlinker+Jscan=changes.I think you are very confused on both the questions you are asking.
You don't update the adapter you use the adapter to update the vehicle.
And TazerDT is a plug in device that can act as a SGW bypass, but also can make changes and has its own "live features" that can't be done with Jscan or alfaObd. It's not really comparable to Jscan .
Price wise, you are better off with Jscan or alfaobd for making the changes you want. If you don't want any of the live features of the TazerDT, it's really not worth it.Didn't think i was confused but it is Monday.... Was thinking about the Taser DT bc of the live features and no need for the bypass cable. Plus, you can update the Taser firmware via PC I think.
Just looking to change the simple things like tire size, tpms, fog drop out, drl, etc. Don't care about the Taser light show.
Like I said I don't know much about the Jscan but I love my Tazer I did mess with some of the stuff but now I just use the live settings and love it. The light show was ok but not a big deal I use the Pin-code, turn off my start-stop, and change my DRL's from time to time.Didn't think i was confused but it is Monday.... Honestly you can use them both. Don't need the red harness, to use vlinker, if you have the TazerDT installed.Time to play and see which one I'll use long term.

Did you play around and find out Which One will work best for you?Time to play and see which one I'll use long term.

Not yet. The extention cable came today. I'm going to stat playing this weekend.Did you play around and find out Which One will work best for you?
Cool !! That's great. I don't use a lot so Tazer works best for me I don't even have it married because I only use live settings DRL's, Eng stop - start, but # 1 is Pin -Lock that extension cable good now I can get my fat fingers in there.Jscan for the win!!!! Tazer is nice but I liked Jscan's app for what i want to do. The Z Automotive extention cable is great and does make things real easy to plug in/out from.
Took 10 mins to change the following.
-tire size
-fog dropout with high beams
-DRL's now markers
-No seat belt chime
-checked for codes
If you aren't going to use the TazerDT for the live features, then here really is no need for it, as Jscan or alfaObd can make more changes.Jscan for the win!!!! Totally agree but had to try both due to curiosity. If you aren't going to use the TazerDT for the live features, then here really is no need for it, as Jscan or alfaObd can make more changes.

There is no firmware update for OBD2 adapters AFAIK. They either work or they don't.
Oh Lord, I said AFAIK. Someone else posted the correct information fkr doing the update. No more comments from peanut gallery were needed.vGate has their own firmware updater app.
Oh Lord. I've updated both my MX+ and the vLinker firmware.
