Who here is looking forward to the Hurricane?

Traction limitation when boost kicks in and not knowing how to lift the foot off the pedal. Brake stalling to get turbos spooking before launch. You can't just mash the throttle and expect good results. But that goes for the Hemi as well
4Hi and traction control solves most of those issues. 🤯

I would never leave traction control in if I am trying to race anyone. It kills power if it senses even a little wheel spin.

And not all trucks are 4wd

Jebus, lighten up just a touch would ya? Levity isn't your thing apparently.

I think it's reasonable to assume Ram will not get rid of the torque management they have had since they started using them Hemi and I'm not talking about traction control. A Hemi Ram has more than enough hp and torque to smoke the tires for a significant distance and get you sideways but the computer manages torque output to preserve driveline components and it results in significantly reduced loss of traction on dry pavement.

I see nothing wrong with this disagreement. I think HSKR R/T makes valid points.
Perhaps you are sensing that you are on the wrong side of the argument?
This is just bench racing. It will be settled in due time at the strip. Would you be willing to wager?
I'd bet that HSKR R/T would...

Yes. if it has 1 or 2 turbos, one has to have boost for fast get up and go. My new I6 with twins has plenty of get up and go but I don't drag race any more. I'm to old I guess. Wtih a heavy foot, they will spin just ease off a little and let her go otherwise just rubber and smoke. Too bad the days of straight drives are gone; always hated autos ...still. Have fun and be safe.

My next truck will probably be a Chevy. I don't like Ford (had a 2018), and don't want a V6 turbo if a V8 is an option. Then again, if in the new generation of the V8 GM still doesn't make it dual injected and only direct injected, I'll be looking at RAM again and Toyota. Still have 3-4 more years with this one.

Recently traded 2022 Rebel 5.7 Hemi for 2025 Sport GT with S/O I6 and so far I'm impressed. Performance is amazing and the gas mileage is great. I-75 from Sault Ste Marie, Michigan to Port Huron, Michigan at 85 mph the Hemi averaged 16 mpg same trip home at 85 mph with the new truck and it climbed up to 19.8 mpg. I took somebody on here's advice about getting over having a V-8 in a truck and very pleased I did. I've owned a 2010, 2014, 2017 and a 2022 all with the 5.7 so was very unsure about making the switch.

Came from a 700hp bmw twin turbo v8. Only reason I chose the hurricane is because the 5.7 hemi is so drastically underpowered. Its ONLY real advantage is the sound. It’s not more reliable despite all the old timers here afraid of turbos (no offense). Now If they offered the 6.4 srt engine I may have gone with the v8.

Dec 31 purchase on a new Laramie Level 1 with the 3.0 Hurricane. Have owned a 86 Shelby Charge 2.2 Turbo and a 87 Shelby GLHS 2.2 Turbo. that was recently sold to another owner who has several 2.2 Turbo Shelby Chargers. If this new Hurricane in had DIESEL in it's name people would be climbing the fences to own one. Simaliar turbos more maintenance and smelly diesel fuel that jells in fridge temps like here now -25F.

Had the new Ram out on the lake fishing with a friend and his 6 yr old grandson yesterday -23F -45 wind chill. There is no to cold for 6 yr old boy planning on fishing. We caught a mixed bag of crappie and perch and had a good time in my home made crank down 5x10' insulated enclosed (Trailer) ice shack. 70F inside.

Important part 3.0 started effortlessly and the truck was warm and cozy to and from fishing. Good winter stating test setting for many hours right out in the wide open on a cold blistery day.

13-15 mpg here but it's been very cold in Central Wisconsin and the truck only travels enough to warm up then back home. Still under 500 miles on it.

Have been RAM hunting for awhile. Ram had good rebates on 3.0's, good acquisition rebate on qualified vehicles, and 1k rebated for building a RAM online. The RAM offer on 3.0 was just to good to turn down

Have a 05 Magnum RT 5.7 Hemi (Magna Flow exhaust) and 79 Magnum GT (L) 360 (Stock exhaust) in my Mopar stable and for exhaust sound this 3.0 surely is the ODD DUCK out in that part.

I like to hear a parent taking their kid(s) out ice fishing!
Been out on some cold days here in MN also.
My old Red 2014, new ish house and our new Blue 2025 Laramie in behind.
Starting up in negative zero temps no problem.
