White hood latch on a blue bonnet?

Are hood latches normally not painted to match the rest of the body?

I've seen unpainted latches and body color but never a different color altogether. It doesn't matter, but I found it odd.

that is not right, also i can see it missing a plug to the left of it.

They're all like that. It's galvanized or something that gives it that color. Paint would chip off quickly there

Same on mine, and painted latches do chip almost instantly. I changed the latch out on my Challenger for a stainless latch for this same reason.

Mine is silver, but not the body color. It definitely is not white.
