I have the limited with 22" wheels, the original tires are 285/45/22, I'm planning on getting another set of same size wheels and was going to go with a slightly wider tire 305/45/22 or a slightly taller 285/50/22. Has anyone tried this, would there be any fitment issues with either said tire sizes? Any input would be great, reason for taller wider tires is curb rash, emi have very tiny bit of it at the moment and I just dont want any on my new rims. I do a lot of work in New York city and parking is always a nightmare and curbrash is not inevitable, just a matter of when.

I have 22's with 285 45 R22 Cooper Discoverers and the sidewalls do stick out enough that it would take a pretty hard hit to rash the rims. I have not seen anyone go to 305's. The front clearance might not support them because there is very little room left on my truck with the 285's.

These are 305/45/22. Wheel is a 22x10 with +25 offset. Your wheels are 22x9 with +19 offset. My wheels have right at 3/4” more wheel inside than yours. I was worried about rubbing so i added 1/4”spacers. I have no rubbing. You won’t either. Your tire is 32.1” tall and 11.2” wide with 5” sidewall . Mine is 32.7” tall and 12” wide with 5.4” sidewall.

As soon as I got my truck I put some old 22" wheels I had in the garage on my truck with 285/45/22 tires. I loved the look but it made my truck completely useless as a truck. I had to watch out for potholes, rail road tracks and curbs as not to damage my wheels. While driving one night in the rain I grazed a curb and bent a wheel. The best thing I ever did was return to the stock 18" wheel. Yes I agree it doesn't look great but I no longer have to worry about potholes, rail road tracks or curbs and it rides like a dream. I am getting OLD.
