Guys,
My wife wears lotions as most ladies do and during the summer some of this lotion has transfered to my leather seats leaving, as best I can describe it, a chalky residue. What should I use to clean my seats to get this residue off?

I swear I have used the above stuff with no luck.
This stuff is the worst to get off, especially after sitting in the leather for a good period of time. Subbed for more responses as this is a constant annoyance with all my vehicles with black leather

I have some Lexol cleaner and conditioner - I'm assuming those are acceptable products for all leather surfaces in the car right? Lexol ain't cheap 🤣🤣

I find Mopar Total Clean works very well as it doesn't do anything to the clear coating on leather seats. Be careful not to use anything that will strip that off.

I used Mopar Total Clean for years, but recently switched to Chemical Guys Total Interior cleaner. I use it on everything inside including the instrument cluster and Uncomment screens. I don't use it on interior window surfaces just because Windex is cheaper for this purpose.

i use a boar hair brush with griots leather cleaner and then condition it afterwards

Check out Geist Leather care products or Koch Chemie Leather Star. The owner/founder of Giest is a lifetime leather care guy. He knows his stuff and he just does leather. Great guy too. I've spoken to him personally over email before. Geist cleaners are 'green' and on some say they are on the gentle side so longer dwell times may be required. The boars hair brush that @1BADRAMLIMITED mentions is a must for your kit, or one of those upholstery brushes you'll see on the Geist site.

I've had great results with all Koch Chemie products. Grade A+

koch chemie is great just pricey

My understanding is that in order to remove anything from leather you need to open the pores on the surface. I’ve used the stuff below and saddle soap. Follow up with a leather cleaner. End with a conditioner. Worked 100% of the time after traveling for six years with my daughter athletes.
