What the heck is this!?

I found this in the glove box of my Rebel. Does anyone know what it is? I have not opened the bag as there are various parts. Did the dealer forget something or is it for something?
I feel like I am missing out on something maybe not too important but want to know anyway.

Very difficult to tell with the thing still in the bag, but I would guess it is the part that allows one to remove the tailgate from the truck and protect the wiring connection between the bed and the tailgate

This came with the truck in my glove box, but I'm not sure what it is? I'm hoping it's an adapter to add several things to my Bighorn: upgrade the downgrade on my tow mirrors (foldable/heating), and (while I'm at it): 360 camera, Adaptive Cruise, and Lane drift warning. May as well throw air...
