2025 1500 Laramie. There's a trailer cam hookup that I dont recognize. I dont know what type of connection plugs into this. Its not 4 pin, 7 or 12. See photos. Any help is appreciated! IMG_2193.jpegIMG_2194.jpeg

Did they toss a bag with adapters in your glove box? One might fit.

Digital Tow Mode camera.

It's displayed on the DRVM.

The 12-pin is trailer surround/Aux2(analog) and displays on the UC screen.

I believe the newest Trailer Surround (4-camera) kit works, but the Digital Tow Mode camera wasn't made available AFAIK for either HD or 1500.

Trailer 360° Surround View Kit - 82216421AB-001 (old PN) & 68527709AC (new PN)

Visionworks sells a single camera wireless kit for the 12-pin. Just keep in mind the UC displays shut off on forward motion after 8 seconds above 12MPH. So it's good for backing, but not so much for observation. Naviks has some box solutions for disabling that, as well as Tazer DT I believe.

There's also a possibility that the 12-pin surround isn't enabled in the BCM (an issue on some HD trucks) and without a working AlfaOBD or JScan on the 25's, that could be a challenge. If the surround and/or AUX2 camera buttons show up and show a blue screen, they're active.

I've seen the $1600 12-pin surround view camera set up from Mopar, but it still doesn't explain that 1 port referenced in my picture. Im not finding anything about what type of connection that is, how to use it, or if there are compatible cameras.

I believe it’s a Fakra connection. Look at the

2025 RAM trailer camera thread for more info.

Again, this is a feed to the Digital Rear View Mirror, not the center Uconnect screen. The idea is that you put a wired camera on the back of your trailer, and your DRVM now shows what’s behind you using that camera instead of the normal one the truck. I don’t know of anyone that’s managed to get this work yet.

I told you what it is. Digital Tow Mode camera that displays on the DRVM.

It's a (coax) type connector. The camera cables are all fakra connectors, these bumper connecters are all proprietary.

Here's the old version, I don't think anyone's seen the 2025 version since it has changed.

Ah I see, Thank you! Glad RAM could make it easy and use common connectors

I don’t think this input feeds to the rear-view mirror. Anyone know the part number for the camera referenced? Maybe 82216274AC?

Based on the manual - “If equipped, your vehicle is prewired for a trailer camera system.
A dedicated camera connector is located near the trailer hitch at the rear of the vehicle, typically next to the 7-pin trailer connector.
This port allows for connection to a Mopar trailer camera (sold separately), which provides a live feed from the rear of your trailer when towing. The video feed displays on your Uconnect screen and can be accessed through the Trailer Camera app.”

Check this out:
and

@Jimmy07 has several posts with specific details about this, and the current issues with the 2025 (due to new electrical architecture).

The coax feeds the DRVM, trust me.

No idea what camera Ram used in 2025, they've been all over the place on vendors and they all have their own proprietary digital protocols used. Since the connector changed form 2024, I expect that camera likely has as well.

That's the 12-pin.

The Coax connector feeds the DRVM.

I've tried to explain this in general basic terms.

Coax = DRVM Digital
12-pin = Trailer surround/AUX2 camera on UConnect.

That document was written Pre 2025's. I wouldnt trust the part #'s given for 23+ to work on a 25.
Totally agree. I wanted to show the coax connection is similar and that it connects to DRVM. The other thread I linked has details from Jimmy07 about the parts and the current issues.
