Dude that Caddy is sweet. Just saw one totally restored at the local car show here a couple of weeks ago.

You doing a stock restore or just customizing??
I like the patina, so the exterior will stay as is. Interior needs redone. The wire wheels gotta go. It runs and drives, but I need to go through it mechanically. Needs a gas tank too. So I guess it'll be kind of a rat rod... Until I change my mind and go further 😄

What an awesome base to start a project! Please keep us updated, I'd love to see where it goes from here!

Here's a first and last picture taken of my old classic gm (needs to be washed in both!), transformation over the past 17-18 years.

I’ve had this baby for 8 years (and 3 Dodge Rams). Prob just keep it forever. 8500rpm redline and most reliable car I’ve ever owned. Still puts a smile on my face every day, even when it snows.

Sold our 2020 outback for the $11,000 in equity and upgraded to this brand new 2022 Pacifica Plug-in Hybrid. Ordered it on 10/30/21 and took delivery yesterday. Pretty sweet to drive 30min home with no gas!

Shoot we never had a chance to take advantage of the equity in our 2020 Outback Touring. Was totaled after 11 months of ownership…

That is unfortunate - we were leasing our 2020 limited and they gave us $37,000 for it - my payoff was only $26,000. I am used to making money leasing subarus but this was just crazy.

Did you have a lot of miles on it? I'm getting $38.8k for my '20 quad cab Big Horn. 17k miles on it. My payoff is about $28k though.

I think you probably missed the previous post - the car we sold was a Subaru Outback Limited. For sure that would have been a low offer for a 1500 Limited! I actually traded in my 19 Big Horn back in May for a 21 Laramie and they gave me over $40,000 for the 1500 with 20,000 miles on it. Moral of the story is this market is not bad if you have a low miles used vehicle with equity for a new one.

Recent purchase, a 2004 Chrysler Crossfire coupe. A car I made fun of when it came out, turns out I love it. I was in the market for a little manual tranny hatchback for the weekends, looking mostly at VW Golfs, Mazda 5s, Ford Focus, etc. But this little car popped up on my local Craigslist and after seeing and driving it, I bought it.

It's essentially a rebodied Mercedes SLK 320, but comes with a 6-speed manual and a pretty reliable (for a Mercedes) V6 engine, rear wheel drive and lowered 1" with Eibach springs. I've owned some fancy cars over the years, but you can't believe how many people I meet that compliment me on this car, it's looks have aged well.

I just added a project car to my garage. '61 Cadillac Sedan DeVille. I'm also adding a garage to my garage (no pics of that yet though) 😁

No rust-out, no dents, excellent chrome and glass, what a find!

I like the wire wheels, they go with the vintage of the car.

Don't paint it for sure, maybe clear-coat to protect it?

Find a good upholsterer and do the interior tuck-and-roll custom to really set it off.

Lose that hot-rod air cleaner, easy to find a Cadillac-style air cleaner, maybe a retro one?
