Fun thread! I’m actually in the process of selling a couple of these to make room for the truck I ordered. I’m 34 but I’ve prioritized hobbies over living large so my wife and I have a modest house in north-central New Hampshire and we spend a lot of time out of the house on road trips and riding our motorcycles. No interest in boats or side-by-sides or anything like that even though we do live on a lake.
Current Cars:
2015 Ford Escape, got it as a Winter Beater 3 years ago for $500. It now has 280,000 miles on the odometer (was 250K when I got it), 2015 MY and runs great! I’m about to store it for the winter and list it for sale.
2019 Hyundai Ioniq EV. $0 down, $99 a month 10,000 mile a year lease. Thanks to promotions & BonusDrive, Hyundai paid the first 12 months of registration ($650), gave me a $500 check and then gave me an extra $450 check for no reason. I’ve been leasing it for about 15 months and I have solar panels so it’s very cheap to run. 10K mile service was just a tire rotation. When the lease is over, buy out is 13K even so I may buy it and sell it for 15-16 grand and actually make like 3-4 grand just by leasing it:
My wife’s Golf Sportwagen, SEL package w/ Driver Assist & Lighting Package. It’s her daily at 85,000 miles. Paid off and will probably be sold this Winter:
My Baby, my 2016 Golf R which replaced my 2013 Golf R. I now have about $15,000 into it in modifications and only put about 2500 miles a year on it. It sits in storage until Summer track season opens back up. The only mods left to do will be multi-port fuel injection and methanol injection. Still on stock turbo putting down 390 HP and 400 torque to all 4 wheels. modified to split torque evenly between both axles with a full magnetic billstein DCC enabled suspension and other handling upgrades:
Here’s the GSW + R together:
Bikes:
First is my 2018 GS ADvnture from BMW, It replaced my 2016 GS Adventure which replaced my 2009 GS Adventure
I do long distance touring and off-road touring on this. It gets dropped down a hill and in a mud pit about once a month and gets beat to crap like a dual sport should..pictured here without knobbies. I run knobbies June-August and street tires other months.
This is my 1995 BMW K75 converted from a touring machine to what you see here. Gen 1 - ABS and other electronic doo-dads tha haven’t broken yet. This is my daily / commuter:
Beta 500 RS Street legal enduro setup for overnight camping which we do throughout the summer:
Finally, just added last month, a Husqvarna 701 Long Range which is a dual-fuel-tank from the factory 300 mile+ dual sport enduro bike that I’ll be setting up for a 2022 Trans-America Trail ride from NC to OR and other extended range touring trips:
Finally, my wife’s BMW F750GS. She doesn’t ride off-road but obviously loves riding with me. We do a lot of sub-500 mile rides toget her and with the truck, we’ll start loading up 2 of our bikes and driving to NC or NS / NL and to UT and doing motorcycle trips together that would be too far for her to ride on her bike:

The Ford Escape & Beta are being sold. I may sell the Hyundai before the lease is officially up as well. I’ve needed a truck for a very long time as we’re now starting to attend more rallies that are far away. I have no problem doing long distance motorcycle riding. My record is 1075 miles in a day on my bike but she wants to do 200 miles at most but also wants to go to some rallies in other parts of the country so the trucks ill allow us to load up for a week and head in any direction and then unload our bikes. We can only pull one bike behind her sportwagen.
