What does the FCA Enhanced Customer Satisfaction Department do?

Its very very unfortunate that you've had to go through all this. Every maker including the mighty Toyota, has these blips. While some may do a better job than others with the “urgency” or timeliness, it’s just another file on a desk.

Each truck forum has threads like this. When I bought my F150 and first got on the F150 forum, it was scary that there were so many issues on the new model. Sadly thats vehicle production these days. Dealers and corporate were no better over there at Ford, I believe GM is the same.

Keep at the lemon law and maybe lease your next truck in order to not take such a financial risk? I wishI knew what else to say.
I agree with everything you said. I visited the other forums and yes, they all have their issues.

The difference will be in how the manufacturer takes care of the customer. Hopefully FCA will not let me out to die.

I am an analytical chemist who works for an electroplating facility. I am senior lab technician and technical operations assistant. My job is to make sure things are correct and look good before going out the door. Our largest customers are the U.S. Government and defense contractors. Literally, our soldiers lives are in my hands. I wouldn't be able to sleep at night if I put out poor quality products.

Being an FCA customer, I would expect no less.

I had to do this with ford. Their customer service was abysmal. Couldn't even get a loaner. When I went to the regional manager she offered me enough rental credit to get a fiesta. I had a $50k f150 that was undriveable for a total of 64 days. All companies have their problems, especially the American ones, my attorney said all 3 were horrible to deal with.

I really want a ram, but man this forum is making it hard to pull the trigger. It seems like ram has a lot of problems and I really dont want to have to go through the lemon law process again.

Mike, I've had my Ram almost a year now and have not had any major problems. Fit and finish is really good, no A/C problems, no radio issues, no transmission noises. Sterling Heights Assembly Plant can put together a quality vehicle. I guess it's just the luck of the draw. My Durango SRT is also excellent. No problems there either. I ordered both vehicles so I couldn't just look it over in advance on the dealer's lot.

My suggestion would be, if you like the Ram, go for it. There are more satisfied customers than ones with issues and I certainly feel bad for those with problems. If you do "pull the trigger" I'm sure you will enjoy your new Ram.

I'm with Dr. Jim. There's a ton of these trucks on the road and you generally only see the complaints. I've had a couple small issues with the truck itself. My learning experience with FCA was from my other car. Nothing major but lessons learned with FCA. As long as you know your rights and how the vehicle should operate and stay on top of them I think you would be fine. I love my truck. There are a high number of vehicles that have had issues and were resolved with every manufacturer. Over time you normally work the bugs out and it'll be a great vehicle.

Good to hear from people happy with the trucks. Ik sure yall are probably right.

I agree with the guys who say go for it. I just got a bad one. The trick of the tail will be to see how FCA handles my situation to rectify things.

So far, I am not at all impressed. My ECS agent is a lazy a__! She calls me to see if the truck is fixed yet. That's laughable! We can see what happens when I meet up with the area manager. There are so many things that need repaired though.

I've certainly done my share of complaining on this forum, but I'm mainly here to be educated. There are a lot of extremely knowledgeable individuals on here. It is very helpful to learn about things before having the issues repaired. It cuts down on the B.S.

I seriously think the Ram 1500 is the best truck out there. Through the luck of the draw, I got a very poorly built unit. It's got just about all the known issues. What really gripes me is simple rudimentary things like differentials are bad.

Good luck to you, if you go for a new 1500!

Its difficult to know what to do at times. The superintendent of the home builder where I live got a 18 Chevy Silverado and hates it. Multiple major tranny issues, to the point of needing a new one yet the dealer and GM refuse. It just shows that no matter the brand, some trucks just stink. A majority dont but yes some do.

my Ram is fine (so far) and I’d have been upset if the $60K truck had some of the issues that this forum has seen, thankfully it doesn’t. If you need or want a truck you pretty much have to keep trying till you get a good one. The odds are you will. I still think Ram has the best design right now.

It ought to be interesting to see what the next gen F150 is like. I heard they are going to coil springs in the rear on the new Raptors! Then, Ford will have to compete with the Ram interior as well. I also heard rumors that Toyota will use a 13" touchscreen in their next gen Tundra. Don't know how true that one is.

Regardless, it's all the luck of the draw as far as quality is concerned when you buy a vehicle.

When I escalated my case with FCA, it went to an Enhanced Customer Satisfaction Specialist (their title on their email footer). There are good ones and not so good ones. I was lucky that I found one willing to think outside the box and help me convince a dealer to fix my front end clunking sound even though the dealer couldn't replicate. Not sure if this helps. I would see who you get, and if they're more like a robot, then ask for another person willing to come up with solutions.

The agent I got doesn't want to get off her a$$ and do much of anything. She called me twice to see if my truck was fixed yet. Researched absolutely nothing before she called each time. It's her job to orchestrate the repairs being performed, but she has done absolutely nothing.

Luckily the service manager at my dealership takes care of everything! He is awesome.

Now if I can only get the area manager to authorize all the replacement parts needed.

They originally tried to repair my rear differential. That failed miserably. I want a replacement differential from the factory in its entirely this go around. The front deferential is very noisy as well. Most likely defective. I want that replaced too. It's going to be a battle.

I'll keep everyone posted!

Perhaps you could give the OP the name of the guy who helped you? Worth a shot.
