Ram's numbers are down, no doubt, but to be fair that's just other truck makers are introducing new generations or facelifted trucks with newer techs.
And the trend now is all these subscription based features. VAG group is actually the first people who did this though. Since Audi and VW are basically the same thing, a lot of their components are shared. So some features available on Audis were hidden/ disabled on VW just so VAG Group can differentiate the two brands. But that was nothing a simple software cable (Ross Tech) cannot change.

I think if the trend continues that way, whoever can "hack" the modules to enable subscription based features will stand to make lots of money. Imagine paying monthly for vented seats vs paying someone aftermarket once to trick the onboard computer to think said feature is paid for.
