I have the Retrax Pro and I love it on my Ram. I highly recommend it.

P powell, Did you do the install? I'm looking at putting one on my truck. Does the ram use bolts instead of clamps? I read the instructions on site, but wasn't sure... Lot of info, and nothing for a 2019 non rambox.. Chris

I helped the dealer do the install. There is a video on the website and instructions that come with it.
No drilling, clamps that bolt on, drain tubes fit into factory holes by the cannister on each side.

With the rambox it has rails and there’s a mounting bracket that bolts to the rails on the truck and to the Retrax Pro rails. No clamps and never moves. It is an amazing cover I absolutely love. Had it for a year now with no issues.

I'm going to follow this thread...have any of you had this version on a dusty road? What were the results? (Could be more dust coming through the tailgate, than the top.) I would not have considered a roll top version, but with my snowmobile, this looks like a great idea. Is that a key lock on the left side near the tailgate?

I went with a Truxedo Lo Pro. I’m not a fan of tri folds or retractable covers because I don’t want to lose the bed space. Gives a nice clean look and rolls totally out of the way. It’s got a lifetime warranty and is super simple to install. The cover is vinyl and they also make the X15 for a few bucks more that has a more cloth like material.

Rollnlock. 5.7 bed and i lose about 8 inches of bed depth. I love it so far. It has been dry, smooth operation and easy to use.

No issues with split tailgate if you swap out the brackets. Can be opened barn door or standard drop down without opening the cover. Been raining for 2 days and bed is bone dry.

I got the ARE Fusion on mine. I have a 2019 1500 Laramie. Got it color matched. Wasn’t super sold on it when I ordered, but love it now.

TruXedo TruXport with a BedRug liner. Quick easy install. Had the same cover and BedRug on my 2016 F150 and loved it. Same cover on my 2014 F150 but had a spray in liner on that truck.

I have an Extang snap cover and have been using them since 2001. I have this cover on my 2001 Dodge Ram and my 2019 Ram. Cold weather effects it and it can be difficult to get back on. In winter I need to use a heater inside the bed so it will stretch and fit. There is some degree of "work/difficulty" if by yourself rolling it open (have to get in truck bed) and the cross bars have to be put somewhere depending on what the bed is used for.
I live in NYC and feel the snaps are a plus in a certain sense for theft or potential theft. Would the owner of the truck keep anything of value (maybe I should say resale value) in there with a snap cover (I don't)? If he really wanted to know he could readily unsnap the cover and check (2001 just open tailgate). It doesn't stop someone from cutting it open and doing more damage though.
My first cover lasted 10 years and was never garaged and the current one is doing well. I believe the cover would have lasted a lot longer if properly treated on a regular bases.
There are so many choices all with + and - that I was getting fed up trying to decide with my 2019 and went with what I know and cost. I had good experience with Extang service (replacement parts-lost/worn, not broken) previously. I sometimes carry my motorcycle and a roll top cover fits that need the best. The tailgate locks on the 2019 and I felt the snaps gave easy access to inquiring minds (aka potential theft) versus damage to my cover.
The 2001 was an easier install as the 2019 came mislabeled and caused some head scratching. The 2019 cross bars are spring loaded so the snapping is less difficult. The Extang covers the bed rail stake holes if that is a concern.
Currently thinking of going with an Access Vanish Tonneau (flat, roll top) as I am working by myself more (easy one man roll next to truck) and the cost ($300+) doesn't seem too bad, it is also manufactured and assembled in the US. I like the Extang Full Tilt as it seems to eliminate/reduce some of the snap issues, but it is not made for the 2019 Ram new style.
Choosing a tonneau cover and running boards was easier in 2001 due to limited choices, today it is like a kid in a candy shop. Best of luck in your choice. Form over function or function over form!
