I've seen this before, it's just wrong. Take a simple mathematical fact (due to rule of exponents); once you're rich, it's easier to double your income quicker, than somebody who makes half the amount that you do. The more you make, the easier it is to make more.

Second problem; there is a number, a yearly income, below which it is impossible to climb out of poverty or improve your wellbeing. It costs a lot more money to be poor, you have to buy poor quality clothes/equipment, so it costs you more in the end.

I could go on, but why bother? In the end the poor will still be envious of the rich, and the rich will mostly ignore the poor. Sympathy, empathy, and love toward your neighbour can go a long ways to making life easier for those less fortunate.
