Westin HDX Drop Step Wheel to Wheel Nerf Bars

I'm looking to choose a side step for my 22 Rebel GT and considering the Westin HDX Drop Step - Wheel to wheel. Does anyone have these and have some feedback on strength, flex, etc..? The things I care about most beyond normal concerns on quality, finish, etc.. are -

1. Stout, no flex when you stand on it.
2. Does it stick out proud enough that a car parked alongside opens it door into my truck that the steps will catch the door before my door does?
3. Good footprint for accepting a boot or sandals?

I've thought about these myself. Would also like some input. Except I'm not wearing sandals.
