So, put my first coat of wax on my new '21 yesterday. Got done removing it with a microfiber towel and noticed on the front two trim pieces under each headlight that there are now yellow wax stains...Only did it on those two pieces on the truck, no other stains anywhere else and it all came off as normal. It's the Meguiars cleaner wax. Washed the truck, hand dried it with microfiber and then applied the wax. Did this all in my garage so warm, but shaded not in direct sunlight.

Anyone had this happen before? How did you remove the stains? My truck is white, so not extremely noticeable, but I know they're there now and it will drive me nuts lol.

I got some compound on my trim when doing paint correction before. I just used some all purpose cleaner and a stiff bristle brush. Comes right off.

Ive always taped over my trim pieces with blue painters tape to prevent any staining or color issues.

As the owner of a white truck, thanks for letting me know which product NOT to use. :p I've actually switched over to ceramic products instead of using car wax, so there was no chance I would have used it. Let us know how it goes. Oh, and how can you create a thread about something like this without including a pic? Truly shameful :ROFLMAO:

Lol. I did take a picture, but it’s hard to actually see it in the photo. The wax did a real good job on the truck overall, it’s just those two pieces. Not sure if since they’re plastic it had something to do with it or not .

A pencil eraser is another solution that works well.

rubbing alcohol ?
Tried that. tried a clay bar too. I don't know what happened, but it's on there good. I'm hoping maybe leaving it out in the sun it'll cause it to fade out. It's not noticeable unless you get down and actually look for the stains. But it's driving my OCD nuts knowing the stains are there!

i think you should leave it alone before you make it worse.
