Water leak third Brake light, BCM fried

caulk if for construction not automotive use IMO. to my knowledge caulk is not used anywhere on a truck or car when it's assembled.now silicone,seam sealer and various adhesives are. i'm not suggesting you use the same stuff they used on the windows but the butyl is actually for sealing windows and stays pliable/somewhat soft.

i didn't wait or a leak yeah i used 2 of those on the back glass and the butyl on the brake light as well as the antenna

Ended up at 3 different places today in Pensacola…dealership and 2 body shop and trim places…the service manager said it’s definitely mildew smell and we pulled up the driverside carpet and you could feel the wet juke stuff under the carpet…but this dealership doesn’t do any water intrusion work..(probably because they’ve seen too many of these Chryslers with these issues) and he sent me to the trim guys…the 2nd of which has a guy that has forgotten more about this stuff than everyone else Ive talked to combined…he’s 86 and still works every day. He has a spray booth and he’ll find the leak…but can’t guarantee he’ll fix it just yet because these trucks apparently leak in about 4 different spots…dropping it off next week for him to dig into…will provide any updates as we go down the rabbit hole…stay tuned

Good call on all of these…ultimately, very poor job of design and engineering given that vehicle mfg 101 is to keep the outside…outside. That was figured out Model T version 3 or 4…. And I’m guessing Henry Ford didn’t tell his customers that shelled out that days equivalent of $57K…”you’re out of warranty, go pound sand..”

Update on the latest…no leaks found at any of the spots listed here…bone dry and still no clue as to where the smell is coming from
Back to the drawing board and attention to the radiator overflow reservoir maybe…
