I dig the look! How close is it in direct sun?

Went from original chrome to satin black vinyl to 3m satin frozen vanilla. Just seeing if and what are best options.

Did not check. It was a 12x12 inch sample. I have a larger piece coming and will hopefully have on by Friday which I will post pics.

So... why vinyl and not a PPF?

I don’t think they make PPF in color matched white... only clear. We have chrome bumpers that we want body colored. It would be worthwhile to have the white vinyl covered with PPF to reduce and possibly mitigate rock chips.

Ah... wanting to hide the chrome bumpers would make vinyl the obvious choice (and the piece I was missing)... thanks.

Yes.. Paint Protection Film... either 3M, XPel, or Suntek are the three big ones. Something I'm looking into at least for the hood.

Depending where you are buying the film from some suppliers can add the clear to film so you can apply it together. They have a machine that laminates the clear and whatever color film together

I wanted to do this several months ago but with billet silver metallic, anyone found anything? Not the biggest chrome fan.

A local shop that does a lot of vehicle wrapping quoted me $700 to color wrap front and rear bumper in 3m film, then cover it with PPF. Seems high to me. If that is the going price, I’ll keep the chrome shining!

Price doesn’t sound horrible but again that’s 2 separate layers being put on. See if someone can do both together. The guys here in Michigan do it that way if you want. Also you can buy the film from them and then have someone install it

I have the body color bumpers and they wanted almost $800 for PPF on the bumpers and the forward portion of the hood and fenders. $700 doesn't sound too crazy.
